I'm excited to hear we're getting Bulaga back. I know some of you will gripe about the price tag but you're living in the past, look at the contracts that are being handed out this off-season and compared to them Bulaga's deal is fine. House getting over 6 mil a year? Maclin 11+? Its a new age with the new cap #s.

Its not like Bulaga's deal is gonna prevent the Packers from signing whoever they are targeting. The Packers rarely spend big money on free agents. Even if they want to, the Packers came into the off season with over $33 mill in cap space. Now just under $17 mill of that is accounted for. Complain all you want, but this deal doesn't end the world as you you are making it seem.

Cobb is not very friendly for the Packers in 2 years, same with Jordy, Clay, Aaron, and others - we may not see the hit now, but this starts to add up down the line when these contracts play catch up....and Sitton, Daniels, Lacy, etc. will need to be paid.

Based on what I read, I think the Packers were looking at 5-6 for Bulaga, 8-9 for Cobb, so if true, they're "only" over about 3-4 mil, but again, that will hurt down the line.

I don't want to bitch too much - ultimately I'm happy the core is here and relatively close to what the Packers wanted to keep them at...just would have preferred at those 5 range for BB, and 9 for RC.

At the very least the highest scoring offense in the NFL last year is now locked up until after the 2016 season.

Keeping our o-line in tact is huge. They were a big part of our success.

What a lot of people here are failing to recognize is that the Pack had one of the best offensive lines in the game last year. This was mainly due to little injuries, but in any case, the brains of our offensive is Rodgers and the offensive line is the heartbeat. The brain can still function if the heart is weak, but a healthy heart can lead to a very functioning brain.

It's much like the Cowboys (who had the healthiest heart out of all teams last year). The Cowboys could not be stopped in many games because, while Romo is no brain like Rodgers, the QB had plenty of time to think things out. And I'm sure Muarry didn't mind running behind them either.

Bulaga is one of the best right tackles in football. Barclay was a borderline disaster in 2013. He receives too much praise, in my opinion. Tretter is more of an inside guy. Failing to lock Bulaga up would've forced Green Bay to draft his replacement early in the draft. So much could’ve gone wrong had they failed to retain him. He's the second best offensive lineman on the team, and he's being paid like it. I love the continuity part of this, as well. Last year's offensive line was the best in about 10 years. They're all coming back, and young enough to make an impact for the next two or three seasons. This is good news.

Tretter can play...was very good at C in the pre-season or have you forgotten that?

I think Barclay is a solid backup and I'm not surprised the Packers tendered him. That being said, had we gone into training camp with him as the default starter would not have been an ideal option given he's still very unproven and coming off a major injury.

Signing Bulaga was a risk given his injury history, but when healthy he's easily worth his new contract. Letting Bulaga walk was probably meaning spending a high draft pick on a tackle come April and breaking up the best line since we've had since the Sherman era. We had the cap space and his contact was very reasonable given he probably could have gotten more on the open market. Now the draft can be used to fill in holes on defense given the offense is being brought back more or less intact.

Just wondering... when aren't you disappointed with the Packers?

Nothing here surprised me... I wrote that if he was going to stay it would be on a Randall Cobb hometown discount and if he was to leave it would be for a midwestern team. The teams that were interested weren't midwest teams. He got over 6.5 mil per. I think that's too high. That is my opinion. I am glad it wasn't 7 which is even higher. I think everyone knew what the deal with BB was going to be. It was just hard figuring if he was going to take more or stay. If it had been another midwest team I'm going to guess he bolts.

Why do you like BB so much? Guy has missed nearly two full years on his rookie deal and doesn't give me anything but an uneasy feeling when he lines up vs. speed rushers and his durability has me looking away from the TV a lot. That doesn't sound like a 7 million dollar a year RT to me.

Zero2Cool (1h) : $170 guaranteed. This might impact Jordan Love
Zero2Cool (1h) : Lions are signing QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million extension
Zero2Cool (4h) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.

dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
