Green Bay — Green Bay Packers tackle/guard Don Barclay signed his restricted free agent tender, a source confirmed, ensuring the team returns its top six linemen for the 2015 season. With Bryan Bulaga returning at right tackle on a multi-year deal, Barclay won't be competing for a starting spot, but the Packers know the importance of having a reliable sixth linemen up front.

He's not as good as Bulaga.

Great depth though. He's proven he can get it done. 3rd C too.

Assuming his knee checks out he'll be great depth for 4/5 of the line! Only spot I really don't wanna see him at is LT!

Glad to have him back.

Best part of the news for me is we shouldn't have to play musical chairs if we lose one guy. It always seemed that our top backup at one position was also a starter at another so one injury meant two or three guys playing new positions. It may not have been that way in reality but it sure seemed like it. It is nice to have a guy that can fill in at all the positions on the line even if it is just for giving the starters a rest or for minor injuries or equipment failures.

This is why I believe that our line played much better last season - we weren't seeing the musical chairs effect (good description by the way.)
