The more relevant thing at this point is what number at each position we keep. However, I will take a stab at the who, in addition to the how many, which I posted in the other thread.

QB: Rodgers, Tolzien, Hundley with Blanchard on the practice squad

RB: Lacy plus one - I will guess somebody beats out Starks - Neal or Crockett, I'll go with Crockett. At least one other young RB on the P.S.

FB: Kuhn - the rookie gets stashed for one year, then takes over in 2016

WR: Nelson, Cobb, Janis, Abbrederis, Adams, Montgomery with at least one of the UDFAs on the P.S.

TE: Quarless, Rodgers, I'll guess Backman (Hundley getting snaps here also)

O Line: Linsley, Sitton, Lang, Bulaga, Bakhtiari, Barclay, Tretter - one or two on the P.S., as O Linemen are not all that usefull for Special Teams, so only 7 get kept.

D Line: Daniels, Boyd, D. Jones, Thornton, Ringo, 2 of 3 between Pennell, Guion, and (sad to say hahahaha) Raji

LB: Matthews, Peppers, Barrington, Elliot, Hubbard, Mulumba, Ryan, two others - My guess would be NOT Perry, maybe not Neal, 50/50 on Bradford, who knows on the UDFAs.

DB: Shields, Hayward, Randall, Rollins, Clinton-Dix, Burnett, Hyde, Banjo, Goodson, Gunter, Richardson - yes, 6 Corners, 5 Safeties

K: Crosby

P: Masthay probably

LS: Goode

That's 52. I'll go with a 3rd RB as the 53rd player.

Yeah going with only 2 RBs is just crazy to me ... (yes I saw you say 3rd at the very end but still some others are saying 2 RBs) but it's just completely crazy thought to me, as RBs seem to get injured every so often and they need to rotate. With 2 RBs, a team would be in trouble once one of them got injured.

Packers normally keep at least 8 OL for the same reason, 7 for game day roster and one back-up for depth when injuries hit which is why Lane Taylor got some playing time last year.

And yeah, maybe not Starks, Guion, Raji, Neal and not Perry just seems more like trolling or blind dislike than projection to me.

I've said it before. Crockett and Neal are Vernand Morency 2.0.

And Cobb isn't a RB... he has no power (for RB standards) and he hasn't been a threat to go up the middle... that's not a back-up that's a different scheme or gimmick... don't get me wrong, different schemes and gimmicks can work, but unless you're going to pass the ball on 80% or more of the time, you need to be able to run the ball too.

Now Montgomery has power in his running, and I know people have talked about him backing up RB, but the Packers are probably going to let him learn WR before moving him around too much unless they're main plan with him is to turn him into a RB.

Also throw in Janis, (who as far as I know has never played RB), but with that pure speed and some power (though maybe not a slasher per say) he could clearly threaten the edges and that could do a lot for their outside running and play action.

But still why not just go with a real 3rd RB, like the Packers have been doing since (I'm guessing here) before Vince Lombardi came to the Packers...

If he stays healthy, I think Neal will make it, as he seems pretty good all around.

Regarding RBs, first of all, my original projection only added up to 52, and I would think RB might be the most likely for the 53rd. Secondly, Keeping 1 or even 2 from among Crockett, Harris, or Neal on the practice squad should be sufficient. In the extremely unlikely event both Lacy and whoever is the #2 go down in the same game, there are Montgomery and Cobb, as was said, plus Kuhn - who has done it before as an emergency RB.

Also I think Neal has more potential than Morency and Herron... not saying he can develop the potential or not, but at OTAs the writers did seem to have very good things to say about Neal and what sounded like improvement from last training camp.

Between the RBs, Cobb, Montgomery, the roster and the practice squad it should be very interesting, to say the least, as far as the moves that can/will be made.
