Mike McCarthy wants his running backs to be all down backs and doesn't want specialists. He cited his reasoning for his preference being is when using the same running back you have more options for the defense to consider and also it eliminates the need for substituting which when done gives the defense a slight break. It also slows down the no-huddle, which is precisely what he does not want.

That being said, we've had a 3rd down back for quite a few years now and he goes by the name of John Kuhn.

Mike McCarthy wants all down backs so if they are all all down backs why not keep the best one on the field the vast majority of the time with a few spells by the second best. #3, be ready if 1 or 2 go down. I kind of agree with Mike, if bringing in player C sorta tips your hand, or limits your options, is it really that good of an idea.

I asked MR the other day who he thought had the best chance to make it as an UDFA.

Glad to see my guy Larry Pinkard getting it done, albeit, in practice. Give this guy a shot with the big boys. Let Janis, Pinkard, and 88 cent play with 12. Those 3 are an interesting trio.

Michelle Bruton was excited to see Pinkard in the game at NE. Of all the guys nobody heard of a few weeks ago he's the one making the most noise on offense.

Jordy
RC18
DA17

room for 3 more:

88cent is a lock

Room for 1 or 2 more:

Abby, Janis, Pinkard, White

Only one or two of the above are going to make the 53. Which one or two?

Abby has been strangely absent. IR, again? I'll exclude him, for now.

White has no chance at least to me. I'll exclude him.

Uh oh... if only one spot is left who is it going to be? My measurables primadonna Janis or my guy Pink?

Would like to see us keep BOTH...Janis and Pinkard. One or both are either going to make it or end up on the PS, if unclaimed. I really do believe Janis is going to make it because of his rare offerings. Pink is probably going PS, but I might be tempted to keep a 6th in him.

I'm really not gonna count on Abby. He's missed what 3 weeks now from a concussion he suffered by falling on his ass? If he misses the next preseason game I wouldn't be against IR and give him a shot next year but at this point he probably shouldn't be making the roster over a player who is going to be more reliable.

So, we have 3 candidates for 1, maybe 2, spots.

Who do you like?

Janis is 1st for me...Pinkard 2nd...White 3rd.

With a late push, I could swap Pinkard for Janis...I surely could. 😟

why are mentioning rodgers heir apparent? honestly. No one on this roster within the next 4 years will be even considered to be that

Hundley could be better 4 years from now than Aaron is.

Zero2Cool (6h) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!

dfosterf (28-Apr) : We got Peter Bowde
dfosterf (28-Apr) : I personally interpret that as a partial tear that can be recovered from with rehab
dfosterf (28-Apr) : MLF said Kingsley Enagbare did NOT tear his ACL and did NOT require surgery, and that he is "looking good" for the 2024 season!
beast (28-Apr) : T.O. son signs with the 49ers
Mucky Tundra (28-Apr) : damn those vikings

beast (27-Apr) : Reportedly Packers have UDFAs Jennings and Jones
beast (27-Apr) : OL – Donovan Jennings, USF OT – Trente Jones, Michigan
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : Interesting draft. A bit shocked that we didn't select an early CB. Definitely have Safety help. Pretty happy overall.
dhazer (27-Apr) : wow the last 2 picks are really stupid and probably will be special teams players Top 10 draft pick next year book it
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : I think he ended up with a terrible RAS score
dhazer (27-Apr) : Anyone know what went on with Kitchens from Florida? At 1 point he was to be the Packers 1st round and he is way down the board now
Martha Careful (27-Apr) : Z, could you please combine my thread with yours please. I obviously did not see it when I Created it
