Julius Peppers is playing less snaps and seems to be producing more. He leads the team in sacks.

Who's total is most surprising to you for better or worse?

I'm mildly surprised with Nick Perry. Granted, he has always pushed his Tackle over the field and pressured the QB ... his issue has been health. He's bee healthier and doing some good stuff.


I would like to see more J. Elliott and D. Jones.

They project out pretty decently, it will be interesting to see where they'll be at at the halfway point after next week's game.

It all seems pretty normal for me. Elliot early on was an oddity with 2 sacks in a limited amount of reps but he's gotten some more opportunities lately. I think Jones + Raji will do better than their current projections, Elliot and Thomas will struggle to get many more sacks with limited reps and the rest maintain (roughly) their current projections.

I think Peppers may start drawing more double teams so guys like Neal/Perry should get more opportunities to win their 1v1 matchups on the other side of the line.

I can't find suprises. Matthews is playing a heck of a game, he is playing all the defensive positions and while many people will say I'm crazy I swear I think he would be a terrific safety.

Perry and Datone are playing better than what I expected.

If we bench Palmer, Burnett and Hyde and make sure Hayward never plays outside again we have a top 5 defense.

Giving up over 1000 yards in the last two games shoots a lot of holes in this theory. I'll settle for getting off the field on third down more times on defense than scores given up.
