The team was one or two players, from the SB. It doesn't get much closer than that.

BTW... Who is at fault when we're a few players short year after year? Pretty simple answer.

I did absolutely love when Murphy threw Ted under the bus by saying he has the resources and green light to do whatever he wants to put this team over the top. Ummm. You might want to have a conversation with Ted about winning it all but sadly you care more about protecting your rep than championships.

Who is at fault if in your words we're just a player or two away? What have I been saying since I got here and long before elsewhere? Right. That's why you won't answer. I can't possibly be right even when you admit I am without saying so. What a world...What a world.

I can't act on them. If I could Ted wouldn't be GM, Murphy wouldn't be CEO. I would let Mike McCarthy stay just because he's had to be held captive with his hands tied by those two above him. When he had Woodson and Pickett he won. Fair to give him another shot with a GM who'll actually help him even though I'm not sold on his attitude. It might be he's kind of forced to shoot low due to the way it is here with Murphy and Thompson.

We needed more pass rush and ILB improvement. The ONE move that people wanted Ted to make would have made ZERO difference because that player also ended up hurt.

It is easy to sit back and complain. Lets see you give specifics. What exact player could Ted have added that would have made the difference.

So lets get this straight. The Packers went into the 2016 season with Sam Shields as their #1 corner, a player who has NEVER played a full 16 game season in his career, and has had injury problems in the past. Then behind him are two second year CBs with limited experience playing the position. Shields goes down in week 1 and you're telling me it's not Ted's fault for rolling with inexperienced corners and also forcing Dom to use UDFAs to fill the holes? He couldn't have grabbed a vet CB?

And who's this ILB that everyone wanted that you said got injured?

Danny Trevathan is the LB. Because he was hurt in Chicago doesn't mean he'd have been hurt in Green Bay.

Peanut Tillman was begging for a shot. Didn't even bring him in to see what he had. Meanwhile, Seattle pulled Devin Hester out of mothballs when Lockett went down. One GM tries... Another is thinking about scouting the Senior Bowl.

You're right. Easy to complain. Also easy to make excuses. You know Ted doesn't try hard enough in season. Never has. He worries about next year at peril of this year.

Sure it was a gamble going with Shields, Rollins and Randall, but at the time it didn't look like an unwise decision. Besides Hayward that basically everybody at the time said, let him test the market and didn't think he was worth what he got based on what he had shown. what other veteran CB should they have gotten prior to the season?

I've been hoping for Ted to make more moves, since before Rodgers and Matthews contracts. The difference is I know that I don't have enough information to know who Ted has looked into and if moves were even possible. I remember many people screaming Ted should have gone after Lynch, only to find out he tried. I still think Trevathon would have been a good pickup even after knowing he got hurt, but I can also imagine what you and others would be saying if he had Signed him and he got hurt like he did.

But there is a difference from speculating on what player he should go after, and being irrational.

Ted trying for Lynch and not getting him because he didn't try hard enough are two different things. Wouldn't give enough for Randy Moss. Some paperwork issue on Tony Gonzalez. Ted is the almost GM just like his team. Don't you see that? His conservative ways often screw us.

Do you think Ron Wolf would've gotten Lynch and Moss done? I do.

Ted got Christine Michael this year. He tried. That's good. Had more need at CB and did diddly. Promotes Herb Waters at DB... Then, promotes Max McCaffery at WR when we're short there? Dollar store almost every time. Not a winner mentality. Who could defend it?

We are not NE because our brass doesn't think like they do. They're not content not winning. We are and it starts with Murphy and Thompson. Two shoot low types that have Stockholm syndromed some once passionate fans to just go along for the ride.

Expect more and stop the excuses.
