Questions like :
Is that supposed to be swollen up like that ?
or
Is it supposed to be that color ?
or
Is it supposed to smell like that ?
or
How much complete rest should the affected area have before I begin to start moving it at all ?
or
What signs would cause me to need to get to a Dr. ASAP ?
or
What does an infection look like ?

Many Dr's are so busy that they rush away from a patient before the patient can ask any questions . It is therefor a very good thing to write down your questions and hand it to the Dr. before he slips away from you .

Surgery went well. They found I also had a torn meniscus and fixed that too. I'll be recovering for several weeks I guess. The whole thing went fairly swift. The worst part was the two hour prep with a parade of nurses. They put this mask on me, I took several breaths and I was no longer in surgery room and was in recovery room. The nurses had fun with how little I knew. Not mean or nothing. I mean, to be fair I was joking with them.

I've been pretty lucky so far. I haven't had any unbearable pain so haven't taken any of the pills except one last night just in case. I was a bit worried about how I feel this morning, but I'm good. Way better than I expected. The only thing that's getting me now is the squishy sound my knee makes! Freaking gross lol

I think I'd rather have the squishy feeling. Most of the time when I straighten my knee now it has a loud crack. Knee doesn't like it as much but, I'm still playing softball and running around.

Knees are fickle little bastards. I hurt mine jogging back in about 2011, I was dumb and didn't immediately ice it when I got home and it swelled up and I more or less couldn't use it for a week. Doctor said it looked like a sprain.

For about 6 months I had issues where it would seem perfectly fine, then when I put weight on it it would just give out on me. It still hurt on and off for about 3 years after that.

I didn't feel comfortable really pushing it again until last year, when I did my first 4000+ foot mountain after training for a few months, and I want to get back into running but I'm terrified of messing it up again.

For reference, I'm "only" 30.

I remember my first knee surgery - much the way Kevin is describing his experience. Parade of nurses, etc. I remember one guy coming over and hooking up something to my IV. He introduced himself as the anesthesiologist. I asked if what he was hooking up was the anesthesia. He said, "no." So a little time goes by and the next thing I know I am waking up getting wheeled down the hall on my way to recovery. My first thought was, "yep, that was the anesthesia."

I had a 4 week recovery (before I was allowed to be full weight bearing) due to a torn meniscus that they were able to repair. I also had a torn ACL.

After surgery, I thought I had it rough until the nurse came in the room to work on the guy recovering next to me. She had him stand up and he made it for about 13 seconds, which was an improvement from the last time. Apparently he had hip surgery. I was then very thankful for my own predicament.

I had my physical therapy yesterday afternoon and the dude thought I was in my early 20's and goes you have a very solid knee, you're progressing very well the first 24 hours. Then says day two is usually the most painful. He wasn't joking. Today was stiff as shit. I'm excited though because I can feel it getting better almost hour by hour.

Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out

dfosterf (28-Apr) : Bowden long snapper Wisconsin. Consensus best LS in college.
dfosterf (28-Apr) : We got Peter Bowde
dfosterf (28-Apr) : I personally interpret that as a partial tear that can be recovered from with rehab
dfosterf (28-Apr) : MLF said Kingsley Enagbare did NOT tear his ACL and did NOT require surgery, and that he is "looking good" for the 2024 season!
beast (28-Apr) : T.O. son signs with the 49ers
Mucky Tundra (28-Apr) : damn those vikings
beast (27-Apr) : UDFA Vikings sign TE – Trey Knox, South Carolina
beast (27-Apr) : Kitchen was all high from Miami, he was more lucky than talented in 2022 and it showed in 2023
beast (27-Apr) : Reportedly Packers have UDFAs Jennings and Jones
beast (27-Apr) : OL – Donovan Jennings, USF OT – Trente Jones, Michigan
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : Interesting draft. A bit shocked that we didn't select an early CB. Definitely have Safety help. Pretty happy overall.
dhazer (27-Apr) : wow the last 2 picks are really stupid and probably will be special teams players Top 10 draft pick next year book it
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : I think he ended up with a terrible RAS score
dhazer (27-Apr) : Anyone know what went on with Kitchens from Florida? At 1 point he was to be the Packers 1st round and he is way down the board now
Martha Careful (27-Apr) : Z, could you please combine my thread with yours please. I obviously did not see it when I Created it
Martha Careful (26-Apr) : Re: 'Kool-Aid' McKinstry. Other than Icky Woods, has there ever been a good NFLer with a childish nickname?
