wpr, it is very simple, I can't bring myself to have any respect for you or your opinions. I'll not try to compose a long winded essay that would attempt to explain it either.

I've known other people in my life that felt it was their superior duty to correct others pronunciation, grammar, and even their choice of words. When they leave the area, I've heard such personnel comments about them like, Gee what a Snotty Bastard or What a Dick or He needs himself a Women. That said wpr, ...

You don't have to explain why you think Hundley was a creditable backup last year or that he is going to be better this year. That's your choice. I will continue to ask anyone who makes an unsubstantiated comment why they feel that way. If it bothers you I guess you will have to click the ignore button.

I will have a great day. Thanks. I hope you do too.

Google Spell Check does not always catch every spelling mistake.

EX: personal and personnel are easy words for a computer program to not highlight.
Such and suck is another that falls between the cracks. Other words fall into this similar circumstance.

Most of us overlook the error and understand what was meant to be written. The same is true of grammatical errors, after all these post are not being presented for a grade to a college professor.

As for Hundley, consider this.

Winning NFL QBs are very rare and they demand large money. Few teams are fortunate enough to ever have two on their roster. As a rule, most teams #2 QB is generally someone that can step in and run their team's offense in an emergency. #2 QBs are not #1 QBs and they are not expected to be. A #2 QB needs to be able to hand off on running plays and deliver short passes that help get 1st downs. He is not generally expected to laser 30 to 40 yard TD passes as #1's are expected to be capable of. A good #2 GB runs a more simple offense and is easier for opposing teams to defense.

A replacement for Hundley is possible, but they would need to learn the GB playbook and system. They would need to practice with the 1st team and get to know the players on field and how he fits in with them. Also, if he has no real regular season game experience, he could perform as most other QB's who need a season or two to elevate their game.

Hundley will never be a #1 QB, but he knows the GB playbook and system. He has real game experience and time with the 1st team that is hard to come by. He will never be Rodgers, but he did elevate his play last season under the pressure of opposing teams.

Callihan and Hundley should have to compete for their jobs in the 2018 GB Training Camp. Perhaps another QB can out play them, if so, then it would only strengthen the team. The professional Coaches will make such a decision.

I donā€™t think outplaying either of those guys would be that hard.
Neither looks NFL quality.
So getting a guy that can be better doesnā€™t look like that big of a stretch.
Again, my opinion. Iā€™m just going by what I have seen out of both of them.
Capable of holding a clipboard, but thatā€™s about it.

Kind of like having a flat spare tire in your trunk....you can say you have a spare ā€œin case of an emergencyā€, but if it was really needed to get you anywhere, you are screwed.

There is a difference between stepping in and running a team's offense in an emergency and stepping in and running a teams offense in an emergency ... successfully. Brett Hundley stepped in and ran the GB offense in an emergency. There are many of us who do not believe he did it successfully. Perhaps you think he did and that's nothing more than a difference of opinion.

A good #2 GB runs a more simple offense and is easier for opposing teams to defense.

A good number 2 runs a teams offense and not a more simple offense. If an offense has to be simplified to the point where it is easier to defend just so the #2 can grasp it then it is my contention that said #2 is not a good #2 QB. I could see the need to simplify the offense if your #2 is a rookie or maybe even a 2nd year guy but if he has three years in the system he should know the offense almost as well as the #1. I'm not saying he can execute it as well as the #1 but he should be able run it. If plays have to be removed from the playbook because the #2 doesn't get them after 3 years then he is not a good #2 QB. If plays have to be removed because he simply can't execute them then I would say again that perhaps he is not such a good #2 QB. If that is the case we should look for someone who may be capable of executing them. Probably not as good as the #1 but if we can't call plays that require the QB to throw the ball beyond 20 yards because the QB can't hit the side of a barn from that far out maybe we should be looking for a #2 who can.

A replacement for Hundley is possible, but they would need to learn the GB playbook and system.

If Hundley needs a simplified version of the playbook after 3 years I'd have to ask how much of the playbook and the system does he really understand in the first place and how hard would it be for someone else to learn that same simplified version? Someone who may be a little smarter than Hundley, a little more experienced and perhaps a little more talented. To answer your next question, and I know it will be your next question because you already asked it of cheesey

Ok, here is your big chance to impress us with who you would bring in for GB's #2 GB. Bear in mind that GB will not be using it's first round draft pick on a QB, not happening.

I'd say Josh McCown, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Moore, hell I'd even prefer Drew Stanton or Derek Anderson to Brett Hundley. And I don't think anyone is advocating the Packers use a #1 pick on a QB

he knows the GB playbook and system.

Does He? See above comment.

he did elevate his play last season under the pressure of opposing teams.

Did he? Again, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Some of us disagree.

Perhaps another QB can out play them, if so, then it would only strengthen the team. The professional Coaches will make such a decision.

That is only possible if they bring in another QB to compete against them which is something that you apparently do not think is necessary or are even willing to entertain. If we are not talking about and edge rusher, a CB or maybe a TE you don't seem to think its important enough to even discuss.

Sorry about the long winded essay but at least I didn't point out any of your spelling or grammatical errors or even your choice of words. That should earn me some points.
