We had a thread on breakout players, but who are your marginal guys who you look at to take a step this year? There are a number of guys who could contribute.

VINCE BIEGEL: With a DC who can scheme him to the QB and an offseason in the pros, dude has a chance to get it done. Clay is off the juice and Nick breaks his hands 2-3 times every year. Biegel had production as a Badger, his ceiling as a pro is unknown.

KEVIN KING: Not really a developmental guy, we know he has skills. Fought hard with a bad shoulder, imo. I think he’ll show up, but he has to prove it.

TREVOR DAVIS: Packers need a perimeter guy who can get deep. TD is that, but can he run routes? Hell, can he figure out when to field punts and when to take the touchback? Dude has potential.

MICHAEL CLARK: Is he a WR or a TE? Then again, we could ask the same about Graham. Probably still not polished enough for WR, but could run down the seam as a TE. I liked what I saw in late season garbage time.

DEVANTE MAYS: Dude has the skills, just needs to get out of his own way. Relax, let it open up for you. Dropped into the late rounds due to injury.

HERB WATERS: His defensive debut was put off for a year due to injury. He’s got the skills, can he put it all together?

JOSH HAWKINS: Sam Shields mini me. Has the speed, wants to tackle and bump and run like Sam. Good depth guy, hasn’t proven he can start.

Is Biegel a marginal player? He missed most of last year due to injury but does it mean he's marginal? Waters and Hawkins fall into that category for sure.

How about Allison? They need someone to step up and take over Jordy's production.

IMO, a "breakout" player comes from playing at least a minor role as a member of the preceding year's 53 man roster. A "developmental" player steps up from the practice squad's rank's or from the injured reserve.

Kevin King could, and I believe will, be GB's next player to breakout and elevate his game to a higher level. If healthy, Vince Biegel could compete for a LB spot on GB's 53 man roster following an injury that shut down his rookie season.

As for Allison, doesn't have the speed to play in this league. #4 at best.

Allison, based on your definition is marginal. Speed r not, he is going to put up some stats this year. That's my guess. Even with all those terribly short Hundley passes he still averaged 11 yards per catch.

A breakout year is someone who takes their game to another level, regardless of what level they were on before. The sky is the limit!!
