Looks like New Orleans is gonna ink Jared Cook.

Is Graham really preferable to Cook at this point? Is there something about Cook about which we don't know? Is there a cap hit we would take by dumping Graham for Cook? Not sure.

I think LeFleur can get plenty out of Graham, just thought it was interesting.

With how you are an expert on the inner workings of the franchise I would assume you would know cutting Jimmy leaves us with a pile of dead money. Totally should have cut him tjough. Tonyan!

Sure did. Also leaves us with a bunch of dead money. Also agree with that move.

Not saying I would have done different. LeFleur will probably use Graham as a pass catcher/slot guy over the middle and less frequently as a lead blocker. We could see an increase in production.

I sure hope we see more out of Graham this year.
Last season was a letdown.

What matters is their future yearly cash... cutting Perry saved us something like $31 million over 3 years.

Graham future contract cost about $17 million over two years.

But they still need the starting lo term blocking TE and power RB (unless Williams can fill that role). Williams has the perfectll verstility this scheme ask for of RBs, just not sure he has the elite skill set or not.

Yes dead money is already spent. That doesn't mean the cap space it eats for a player who is not on your roster isn't a problem.

So Jimmy Graham didn't live up to the contract? Sure, I get it. He played like an average TE last year while being paid like an elite one.

Where I get lost is people who don't think he's worth any contract whatsoever, and want to take a 12 million dead money hit just to release them. I guess so they can say "I told you so!" or something. What is the point of this? What possibly argument is there that justifies the Packers eating 12 million in cap space to NOT have Jimmy Graham on the team?
