When Matt LaFleur said it was all-hands-on-deck, he wasn't kidding.

Here’s an interesting one: veteran CB Tramon Williams is visiting the Packers, the team he’s previously spent over a decade with. He’d add some depth and insurance to the secondary if signed. — Field Yates (@FieldYates) January 20, 2021

Williams came in to Green Bay on a private jet this morning and is expected to sign if everything goes right. He will add depth and experience to the secondary and could return punts if needed. https://t.co/FxkisJ9g6A

Williams was most recently with the Baltimore Ravens and actually played in their playoff loss to the Bills this past weekend. He was released by Baltimore on Monday.

Let's go.

Good move. Gute has been pulling out all the stops trying to improve the whole 53 roster. Right now Josh Jackson and Kadar Hollman are the 4-5 CBs. Jackson is rarely activated. Hollman is STs. Williams can strengthen both ST and CB depth.

They designated for return from injured reserve inside linebacker James Burgess, cornerback Kabion Ento and cornerback Parry Nickerson. All three become eligible to practice right away and can be activated to the 53-man roster any time between now and the Super Bowl.

Burgess was a regular on special teams and could get a call up this week if the coaches think he is physically ready.

I don't think this is going to help at all, unless he is going to coach on the sideline.

He hasn't had a kickoff return since 2009 when he returned 2 kicks for a 13 yard avg.

Yeah, honestly if the Packers have a lead late in the game that they need to hold onto and are returning a punt, I would march Tramon out there and tell him to fair catch the thing and count on him not to muff it.

As mentioned, he should be good CB/S depth as well, and won't need much (if any) time to get up to speed in Pettine's defense.
