Trading back before made all sorts of sense - you get a large amount of young potential, knowing that a good proportion of that potential never pans out. More picks, better chance you'll get a number of good core players. And it's worked, the core of the team is pretty dang solid.

As much as this draft is being looked at as a poor one, though, I see guys who could be very helpful available in every mock I've seen, so I kind of hope he doesn't trade back this year.

I don't think this looks like a poor draft. It certainly looks better than the last couple top to bottom thru at least three rounds. Last year by the time we picked there were no true first round picks left. Certainly, thru at least the middle of round two there are some high quality prospects out there and I like our chances thru the #109 to produce higher quality than in the last few drafts.

Agreed for the most part, what this draft lacks is flashy top 5 talent... but this is a deeper draft at most positions minus QB, RB, and NFL ready CB's.

Agreed, that is why I believe this draft will be very interesting. I don't think Ted Thompson could do anything that would surprise me.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

This week, we'll begin meeting with the coaches and kind of put everything together in terms of what their thoughts are on some of the players. It's a long process.

I like that part..Makes sure to inform everyone that HE alone isn't the one that says no or yes..

True......it's a TEAM effort.

And as i always say, the draft is a crap shoot. Some players that everyone thinks will be great, bomb, and some that no one thinks will ever be anything end up being great.

I haven't thought of it in those terms. I'm sure if you think it is, then it is.

TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : I think he ended up with a terrible RAS score
