I was just looking at the KFFL fantasy draft cheat sheet and Mr Rodgers is the 2nd qb on the list behind Brees, but ahead of Brady and Manning. Jennings is listed as the #22. It looks pretty decent until you see they have McFadden at #21.

Here is there top 99.

Yeah but McFadden is the #15 RB (out of 32). Jennings is the #5 WR.

I'm not sure if Rodgers should be #2 QB but those other two I don't have a problem with and the Packers offense did do well last year in Rodgers first year as starter and even got banged up some and missed Jennings on a couple of throws where he beat everyone.

Also it's just someone's guess.....

These are fantasy projections. These are random guesses, but let's say Brees throws for 4200 yards and 28 TDs. That should make him pretty high up there in fantasy. Brees is consistent for a fantasy QB.

So is Aaron. I'm projecting 3500 yards and 30+ TDs. If you can get 2 TD passes a game out of a QB, that really helps.

I strongly thinks Mike McCarthy will institute a less balanced and more pass happy O in '09. At least, that's how he sounded when he was on the phone with me the other night. (Or unless he was trying to get me to hang up so he just agreed).

LT I kind of saw as high. I like LT a lot as a person, but I don't see him having a #4 year. I'm projecting "only" 1000 yards and single digit TDs. There should be a lot of RBs who beat that.

Actually Rodgers was one of the top fantasy QBs last year, high TDs, low Ints, over 4000 yards, and 4 rushing TDs. I think i read somewhere that he was *the* highest scoring fantasty qb, with the rushing TDs most likely putting him over the top. With most leagues favoring rushing tds(i think, im no expert) its easy to see how having more rushing TDs than any other QB can help you out in fantasy land.

So this isnt surprising at all, in fact i would say its pretty accurate.

Lets compare Rodger's number to Brees'

Com Att % Yards Avg TD INT RushTD

Rodgers 341 536 63.6 4,038 7.5 28 13 4

Brees 413 635 65.0 5,069 8.0 34 17 0

Breez obviously kills him in yards, but not much else. % and average is pretty close, he's got a 34 tds to Rodger's 32, but more INTs as well. Pretty much everything that comes with throwing about 100 more passes throughout the season.

Now looking at that, is it at all surprising to think Rodgers is a pretty safe bet, stats wise, with how he compares to the king of stats last year?

According to our local paper, Rodgers was the top fantasy-points earner in the entire league last year, though I find that hard to believe. That would obviously vary by how points were awarded in any given league. But for a fantasy draft projection, it makes complete sense that Rodgers would go at #2.

After all, does anyone seriously believe Brady will return to his pre-injury form his first year back?

it stinks because last fantasy season i would take rodgers soooo late it the draft so he was a steal. but nowwwww i dont think ill be able to do that 😞

Fantasy football as far as I've seen it is usually 10 yards rushing per point, 50 yards passing per point, 6 pionts per TD (rush or pass), -2 per INT, -2 per fumble lost.

So Brees would be: 0 (yards rushing) + 101 (yards passing) + 204 (TDs) - 34 (INTs) - 2 (fumbles lost) = 269.

Rodgers would be: 20 (yards rushing) + 80 (yards passing) + 192 (TDs) - 26 (INTs) - 6 (fumbles lost) = 260.

I've also read in a number of places that Rodgers was #1 fantasy QB, so I don't know what system they used, or if that report was made prior to the completion of the season.

I think on the ESPN fantasy leagues Rodgers was the #1 or else he was 2nd behind Brees.

On my Mirrors league, Rodgers was a terrible performer. He didn't throw enough INTs and he threw for way too many yards and touchdowns, damn him.

I have been playing fantasy football since around 2000, so i have seen many different scoring types. I think the preseason ranking for qbs should be Brady, Brees then Rodgers. I think your going to see Peyton actually drop alot this year.

I also say watch out for whoever qbs the Lions either Stafford or Culpepper remember Kitna had good fantasy stats when he played.
