I think it is all about not wanting to do training camp to be honest..

Recall his 1st retirement from Packers..Said if I didnt have to do all the stuff during the week, he would still be playing

That's just sad. He doesn't want to prepare, he only wants to play around on Sundays. Oh well, good. He can half ass it. I'm sure that'll really help the Vikings.

I heard 12 million.......... so was he holding out for more money since the first reported offer was 10 million?

I can't think of any other reason the offer would go up $2 mill, unless they think he's that much more valuable with the lack of preparation.

I do too - the money comment was a bit tongue in cheek. I'm sure he didn't want to do training camp - they are probably just throwing in the extra 2 million for looks.

We are season ticket holders, but planned a trip to Florida before the schedule was out. We are coming back this day - so we sold the tickets. We should be back in town by the time the game starts though, so that's good. I wouldn't be shocked if it got moved to the late game also.

Once again, Brett Favre ran away from a Minnesota rush.

Brad Childress insisted the chase is over.

Asked whether the Vikings would revisit the possibility should Favre change his mind again, Childress repeated his "more than content" stance about the current quarterbacks.

The coach was then pressed to definitively rule out another dalliance with Favre.

"There's not a chance, from my standpoint. I'm going forward with the guys we have, and we'll have a great competition," Childress said, using a similar line to deny interest in pursuing the recently reinstated Michael Vick.

He was holding out because he could. The Vikings have exactly zero leverage in this whole thing. No minicamps? That's fine with us Brett. Skip the first week and a half of training camp too? Sounds good! More money? How much money do you want Brett? *slurp slurp slurp*

Annnddd Brett Favre has officially become a parody of himself.

QFT. Brett ... oh, Brett. A year ago, this news may have hurt me -- shook me to my core. Now? Nah. The parody continues. How many times can a waffler waffle?

Bring it on, Viqueens. Bring it on Brett Favre. I'm not going to get emotional about this. That ship has sailed. You wanna piece of the Packers? Bring it on.

And honestly -- someone here find me an instance where ANY player has acted more like a Prima-Donna than this Summer of Favre, Pt. II.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.
