It just seems that he has hit his ceiling way too early. Or that the ceiling has even been lowered, somehow, since his first year.

I think the ceiling was lowered for the entire team once we lost Jenkins and Barnett. Lets all still remember that Hawk did lead the team in tackles, though it was far lower than what Hawk did in 2006 or Barnett in 2007. Along with that Hawk was second on the team with 3.0 sacks. And all that with injuries and new position on the field. That makes me feel fairly good about last season being his worst(stat-wise) of his three years. With all that said, he obviously has guys on his heels itching to play, so all he can do is go out and play his best and we'll know the outcome soon enough.

My bigger concern lies with Barnett and how he'll return to form.

I don't think it's the beginning of the end for Hawk despite his rather average performances over the last two seasons, he'll still have a role to play in GB. I would think the personnel in the 3-4 the sub-packages aren't set in stone, and the team will rotate linebackers far more than in the 4-3.

Hawk's not exactly set the world on fire, but he's not been awful either. However, he's not produced what was expected from the 5th overall pick. The draft day video above compares Hawk's potential to Urlacher and Lewis, it's fair to say he's nowhere near achieving that goal.

I think Hawk just needs to moderate his conditioning, he is built like a tank and that affects his mobility, he should still be great in the tackle but more explosive if he just lost a bit of the bulk.

I still believe.

Capers will know how to use Hawk. Sanders didn't know how to use his own toothbrush.

i would imagine that we trade hawk, hes no need to the team, but has skill-we could get him for a 1st round pick from the browns
if we add tramon williams to the trade

You must play a lot of Madden franchise mode.

Because this reeks of Madden logic.

I have to agree. Even if we where to trade Hawk, I really wouldn't want to lose Tramon. And like said, I really don't think that we can just throw players at the Browns for a 1st round pick.
