I like to look at the other side of the coin. Bigby has been making highlight reels with big hits and INTs. For him I say So What. He hasn't been part of a highlight reel of an opposing team burning him either. I am happy if he never gets shown in either aspect. As long as he is out their doing what he is suppose to do correctly. Bigby is not our all star, he is a role player safety.

But he 'created' a lot of hype afted his amazing games near the end of the 2007 seasons. People don't expect him to be a solid player, they expect him to be a ballhawk and hard hitter.

He has been much less of a liability in coverage than I thought he would be. I thought of him more like a 46 S/LB hybrid-like guy. Like said, he's just the weak link in a very strong chain, but that's really not saying much.

To me this seems like blaming him, for Hype, not created by him, but by us as fans. Bigby wasn't out saying anything about his performance or claiming what he is or isn't. He made plays when he had the chance, and since he was young and unproven, he had more chances. If he is doing his job, QBs are less likely to go after him now.

I for one can not think of a chance for him to lay somebody out. So I won't penalize him, saying he is bad, when I haven't seen him burnt or missing easy tackles.

Like I said, he has been really solid. He has just not been living up to the expectations people had of him after the 2007 season. It's not fair, and he didn't ask for it, but that's the way it is. Luckely, Ted Thompson doesn't care for that stuff (as any GM should).

To be honest with everyone i really only remember how many times i threw stuff at the tv because he was getting stupid late hit flags alot or PI flags more than anything. Oh of course i remember seeing his hair out of his helmet lol.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I've never been a Bigby fan, he seems to take far too many chances. He's also one of the slowest players - for his size - I've ever seen.

Yea he SUCKCS
AJ Hawk SUCKS
Jarret Bush SUCKS

Everyone on The Packers pretty much sucks!!

I rmember in 2007 The pack got off to a 5-1 start and everyone was picking aprt the team as if they were1-5.

So untill everyone plays a perfect season, and The Packers go 19-0,
THEY ALL PRETTY MUCH SUCK!!!!

My new favoeite word.

SUCK SUCK SUCK

Hey but I'm going to enjoy the journery in 2009,
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

I've liked Bigby, but it's more so his approach to how he plays the game. All out.

Unfortunately that causes him some penalties and injures his teammates (see, Al Harris).

Most of Bigby's penalties and blown coverages occurred in the first half of the 2007 season. In the second half, he was outstanding. But the injury last year rendered him a non-factor. And so far this year, it's been more of the same.

Bigby may be one of those players who is not fast and/or talented enough to overcome a lingering injury. I remember how Antonio Freeman suddenly lost most of his effectiveness around the age of 30, not because of any particular injury, but because he lost a bit of his speed, and he didn't have a lot of speed to begin with.

Maybe that's what's happened with Bigby because of last year's injury. If that's the case, I hope he returns to full health soon. He should be there by now.
