self fulfilling prophecies, if we type it enough times he has to come play here.

djcubez, I'd still like your examples of Grant playing that way all the time? I've seen you type it in 3 different threads without any game examples, Are you a bitter anti-gold domer or something? Lol, I have no problems if Grant is that bad, but I haven't seen that and would love to be corrected. I'm going to continue to call it out until you put some real observations of that being the case into your post. If you feel up to that, I'll be happy to lay it out for you on where Grant has done more with plays than others believe he could by doing a Madden ankle buster juke. You'll be just as disappointed in Brandon Jackson not being AP just as much as with Grant. Did Grant go down easy last year, of course he did, no denying that. but to compare his running in the first two weeks to his running last season is crazy and makes my head spin. /defending Grant rant off

All right I admit it's not all Grant's fault. I just think Grant has no big-play capability. If you watch him run it's really north-south, which is good for the zone-blocking scheme but our O-Line is too bad to get those blocks, so Grant basically runs into the back of our line and falls over because he has no where to go. Grant does run hard yes, but he runs right into the tacklers instead of trying to bypass them. He just looks sluggish compared to his 2007 form. I just think if we had a compliment to him in the run game it would be better but we haven't involved Wynn in it and Jackson is out. I'm probably just bitter over a loss in which Grant hasn't performed well yet again. It could be the line too, but things just better turn around.

I like Brandon Jackson a lot. I think he's clearly our most balanced back. If he didn't always get injured all the time then I would have no problem with him taking the majority of the carries. I'm starting to get impatient with Grant at this point. Hopefully we have him back when we play the Vikings.

wils says Brandon Jackson played today. Err practiced today. That makes me feel MUCH better. No, BJ is not the cure all, but I like seeing Brandon catch out of the backfield. He always gets some yards. Nothing flashy, but yards.

How is Brandon at picking up the blitz?
He's great (compared to our options) at catching out of the backfield.
When is he predicted to be back?

I think we need him back.

he's my favorite running back on our team; ya I like his runs more then grants. Although grant is showing a little heart this season ... still want to see how jackson does.

I don't know if B-Jack is the answer or not, but he can't do any worse then Grant has.
I REALLY thought Grant would shine this year. I THOUGHT the injury is what screwed him up last season.
Now, it looks like he just plain sucks.

I don't know that we can assess him with the way the O-line is playing. He's not a bruiser who can make his own hole, and he's not a Sanders type who is going to elude 11 guys in a play. That's just not his style - he's a back who needs a hole or a crease, and the line's not providing those.

I don't think he sucks. I do think, however, that he might not be a good fit for our line - then again, I don't know of many backs that are a good fit for a line that can't block or prevent penetration, other than the true Sanders-esque freaks of nature.

Admittedly it's not taking me much today to get me excited, but hearing that Brandon Jackson was FULL PARTICIPANT in practice ... it gave me splinter. Err, wood.

3rd down efficiency here we come!

I agree, I think Brandon Jackson is going to be a HUGE plus for us. Although Grant has been looking pretty good on those screens lately, that's B-Jack's forte. I personally think we should release Wynn and promote Lumpkin from the PS, Wynn has been pretty bad this year thus far.

Really nice to hear B-Jack is back. I like how Jackson plays, gives an honest effort everytime he touches the ball. I don't mind Grant's north/south playing style but, he just can't consistently break tackles. Jackson OTOH, is way more balanced and fights for every extra yard. Can't wait to see him on the field!
