Lang and Havner

Yes Lang. Sure Allen had 3 sacks, but overall, I think Lang did a good job. Most of the game he was on his own. The second sack Lang actually had Allen blocked until Jackson chipped and knocked Allen off Lang's block and towards the sack. Had Jackson not blocked Lang had him taken care of. The first sack Lang got schooled on the Bull rush, and the 3rd I have to blame Lang because Allen was unblocked. Miscommunication somewhere.

Havner, where did he come from. He really reminds me of Chewy. Took a couple years to make his mark and get on the field. Isn't what you would call a physical specimen. IN the last two games, he seems to be finding a way to make plays.

3 sacks and a bright spot? This kind of thinking is why we are where we are. Quit accepting mediocrity.

I do agree about Havner though. Guys legit

come on dd80. I'm not saying that he should get ready for a trip to hawaii this January, but don't you think potential counts for anything? The kid's a rookie.

Can you imagine if Clifton had started, and played like Lang, what the fan reaction would be? It's all about expectations, and they were pretty low for Lang. I suppose he played about as well as could be expected, under the circumstances.

The biggest bright spot for me was that the Packers came back almost all the way from a 24-3 deficit in the second half. They did not finish the job, but at least they kept their composure and got back into the game.

My bright spot is that Rodgers learned how to get the ball OUT on hot reads against the enemy blitz. Took him until the second half to do it, but he seemed to actually catch on to that.
Also Havner. I thought Lang held up decently for the most part.
I still like the defense.
Clay Mathews is a good player.

It's 3 sacks.....not 1. That's pretty bad. I can't get to excited by that.

No I just disagree

I mean c'mon if the bright spot is a guy that gave up 3 sacks......that kind of says alot.

And I did agree about Havner.........you chose to ignore that though

Look at the plays. 1 is busted miscommunication. Cannot prove who messed up, but I am crediting it to Lang since it was the DE. another where he had Allen blocked until Jackson chipped.

Lang only really got beaten by that first Bull rush, which he was able to handle later in the game. The kid is doing pretty good, for a young LT against one of the best rushers in the league. It isn't like he is whiffing on blocks like Colledge did. If I remember right, he also didn't false start, and was only called on 1 bull shit penalty.

Lang is a bright spot in one bizarre sense. He just got "played" by the redneck and he will remember it. I think the kid is a gamer. Hopefully he remembers this day when he is pumping steel and adding pounds this off-season.

He was a fucking disaster this evening. Not his fault. Our coaches, the not rookies in the NFL playing THE most important position against arguably THE best pass rusher in the league, left this poor kid out in the cold.

I am trying to get over that aspect, but it is a god damned shame.

What was Mike McCarthy thinking?

That was some incredibly piss-poor game planning. Christ, WE had that one figured out to a tee... we have been posting repeatedly and tangentially about this on a continuous basis...

Is Mike stupid?

It will be a bright spot if he is exposed as such and dealt with accordingly. He seems to be not so smart based on his pressers..perhaps we have been weighting those too heavily in his favor as to keeping things from opponents, etc.

Maybe he is dumber than dirt---football-wise...

He has had me mostly fooled until today.

But it is understandable...after all, I am what you call a charitable man.

Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.

Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.

beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.

buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
