i feel like i saw lady luck.

A LOT.

but our defense, whoo boy. where did they disappear after preseason and who the hell woke them up? has Capers really been waiting this long to bring the fucking heat?

on the flip-side, god our offense looked impotent for most of that game. what is the deal? how is it possible that we just can't get open anymore?

its not possible. i was talking about this during the game yesterday. The first half it was rodgers holding on to the ball too long again. there is absolutely no way our stacked receiving corps can't get open damn near every play. it has to be rodgers vision, not anticipating the brief openings there are, or being too afraid to take a chance.

They were moving the ball in the first half, it's just hard to put a drive together when you have to go 30-40 yards to get 2 first downs.

1st possession - Rodgers dropped the ball and got int. grounding. 3 and out

2nd possession - Rodgers 5/6 completions, missed FG

3rd possession - Rodgers 1/3 completions. 2 false starts and 1 offensive holding kill the drive. Close pass to Jones which would have been a first down is overturned.

4th possession - Rodgers 1/1 completions. 15 yard person foul on Havner kills the drive

5th possession - Rodgers 4/5 completions. Offensive holding penalty is overcome. 1 yard run followed by incomplete pass and pass short of the first ends the drive.

6th possession - Rodgers sacked twice

7th possession - after a false start Rodgers completes to Driver into FG range at the end of the half.

You can put maybe 1 possession there out of 7 on "Rodgers holding the ball too long again" For the most part he was completing passes and moving the chains. The Packers only had 1 run for a first down and 2 runs over 5 yards in the entire half. The offense sucked in the first half primarily because of stupid penalties and no run game.

speaking of "stupid penalties and no running game"

was i the only 1 disgusted by mccarthy's comments at halftime talking about how he is disapointed by the fact the offense couldnt get into a rhythm, immediately after he called a run play on 2nd and 23, then again on 3rd and 22?

I saw a positive on the defensive side that needs to be a permanent move...Keep brad jones in as OLB and have kampman as a rotating DE...I love AK but he is not good at all for the 3-4 scheme especially as an OLB..

What did Brad Jones do so well that Kampman doesn't? And if I hear he's so much better at pass coverage that makes me laugh. There were at least two plays that had Romo had a good throw Jones would have been burned. Just curious what out of Jones was so good that we'd want to make the change permanent?

My big negative for the game is TE play. Other than Havner's TD pass, Lee committed 2 holding plays, and hardly anything else in the passing game by the group. Hope Finley back next week will bring back the spark at the position. I think if we get a TE pulling the LBs deep again, the underneath routes will start being available for Rodgers on the 3 step drops and pressure plays.

If it's because they weren't limited by having to work Kampman into the plan, then I say let Kampman sit for now.

I think the O-line is still the major problem. The WR's don't have time to get into their routes, cause Aaron Rodgers isn't getting enough time to let the play develope downfield.
But i LOVE that they didn't give up. And Mike McCarthy didn't give up on the running game either. It finallt seemed to get going in the 2nd half.

Most of all, i loved the "heart" the team played with. They kept plugging along until it all finally worked.

Be nice if they could keep that up for a few weeks...

Seriously, even with all the irritating penalties, they actually looked like a real team this week.

McCarthy does know what the WCO is no matter how much he tries to prove different. No matter what we need to keep Lang. If he doesn't start, he is a backup at everything by QB I think.

Capers has gotten back to the blitz. If we used this gameplan against MN we win IMO. Matthews is going to be on QBs minds. Sacks, pressure or rolling around by their feet, he is getting their attention.

OLB, we have a decent backup, and possible future starter in Jones. He isn't ready to replace Kampy yet. Though Poppinga should never see the field besides ST again.

Jones and Jordy should continue to play halfs. Jones had a good 1st half, Jordy 2nd.

Positives:

- Nick Barnett continues to improve as the season goes on.
- CM3 is everywhere. What a player. Some guys just have "it" , and CM3 certainly does.
- That was the best game by our D line in quite some time.
- Brad Jones was a pleasant surprise.
- Chris Carter who? All Spencer Havner does is catch touchdowns.
- Aaron Rodgers was given more responsibility  at the line of scrimmage
- The only injury coming out of this game was Colledge's ankle, and Mike McCarthy said it was not serious.
- Woodson just makes plays. What a stud.

Negatives:

I wasn't at the game.

That's the biggest positive. Coming out of that game with no injuries is HUGE..

Plus we're getting Finley and probably Tauscher back this week. Jordi should be able to return kicks too.

Zero2Cool (16-May) : From what I've read, it's all Jets , not us.

Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.

Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.

buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though

dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
