I think what's more amazing is Aaron doesn't have a RB threat like Adrian to take the heat off him.

Not just you, but everyone really needs to get off that kick. Fumbles All Day and Grant have pretty similar statistics and Peterson fumbles left and right, grant doesnt. The "great" vikings running game has been slightly above average and really, just average when you consider the fumbles. Aarons played amazing and i dont take anything away but dont make it seem like Favre has some big advantage due to the running game or the o-line because Favre's getting slammed around back there like a rag doll worse than i've ever seen other than maybe 2005.

You're absolutely right on the AP angle, however I have to disagree with your comment on the O line. The reason why he's getting knocked around is half on the o line, half on the fact that he's not nearly as mobile as he used to be. Instead of being able to slip out of a rushed tackle attempt, roll out to the right, and fire a missile 40 yards downfield on a run, he just goes down.

It's been said many times this year including by Vikings players themselves that Favre is the biggest offensive threat, not AP.

Statistically it appears Favre and Rodgers are interchangeable. Realistically, I don't think so.

I think Favre with Grant would do far worse than Rodgers would if he had Adrian.

Lol, you be smokin sumptin nice. The packers have a FAR superior receiving corps plus, if Favre were there, he would have had 2 more years with all those weapons that he groomed for Aaron. He took a couple of rookies at receiver and a bunch on the o-line plus a bunch of plug guys and a no name running attack and turned into a superbowl contender. Now that they have matured and learned over the past 3-4 years, they are more able to complement an inferior QB. Dont look too deep into the term. Yes, i said inferior. If anyone cant handle Rodgers at this point being inferior to favre, thats too bad. It's not a dig. I think Rodgers is great but he's not better.

Thats true too. I agree. He's good on the move but stuck in a collapsing pocket, you're not seeing him make a play to get out of the pocket and find the open man. He can make one move, pretty much forward and if theres someone in his way, he's going down.

Did everyone notice how effective the Vikes were Monday night at hitting their RB's underneath?

It seemed almost unstoppable...take the back through the hole after play-action and hit him 4-8 yards downfield.

I wish we would do more of that...

Cool. I just disagree.

We got better WRs and better TEs. They just have better RBs but not really by that much. The wild card in their RB set is Chester Taylor who I think is superior to Green/Jackson.

Their OL is better but really not by much.

Favre really blew it. We all know how much Favre loves TEs and we got much better TEs than they do. He'd be much better off with us than them. Also his chemistry with Berrian isn't that good. With their system, Berrian = Driver and we all know how good Favre's chemistry was with Driver.

"zombieslayer" wrote:

I think the BRETT FAVREs Oline is better, but not consistent. And looking at the stats, I think the WRs even themselves out... Rice & Harvin are pretty on par with Driver & Jennings. You guys have more depth at TE, so I give you that edge. Our RBs, statistically are only a tiny bit better than yours.. But it's pretty obvious that once you factor historically, we have the superior RB corp.

Favre uses his TE.. There's really only one the team as a whole uses (the backups are blocking TEs more than anything else), and that's Shiancoe. When compared to Finley, they are comparable.. But it's silly to imply that Favre doesn't use his TE this year as he would if he had the Packers TEs.. (BTW, Shank has 10 TDs, you guys have a total of 5 for the TE position).

I do agree with you on Berrian and Favre's chemistry. That can be attributed to Berrian's glass legs (he was injured all of pre-season and most of the first half of the season), though. I think Rice would be more comparable to Driver than Berrian, considering the chemistry Rice and Favre have (even after a handful of games to get in tune).

Rice could start on the packers but nobody else. Not a TE, not another receiver. Vikings receivers are alright. Harvin is good for a rookie but come on. GB has far superior weapons. IMO, i think Jordy Nelson would be awesome opposite Rice and i'm not sure that rice would even be better. Rice just happens to be an available big body with some athleticism that Favre is taking to a new level. He should take half his new contract and give it to Favre.
