"Listen, I want to play every game," Rodgers said. "I don't need that, 'Oh, you've got to play because Brett played 250 in a row.' I don't need that. I have pride in myself. I've played with some serious injuries before, so that's personal pride. I don't need any extra fuel to play."

Awesome. I'm glad he's getting defensive.

If I was asked the same thing over and over and over and over again, you can bet your donkey that I'd get defensive too.

Truthfully speaking he's handling it far better than I would be. I'd have worn a Favre jersey to my first after game press conference or something like that. Or maybe have a countdown "Only [25x] to catch up to Brett".

I'd be a (you will all be shocked by this) a complete smartass about it all.

Shoulder injuries though, are very serious, especially when it's your QB's throwing arm. It's not just the strength, its not just the pain, its not just mobility... it's all three combined.

My son has had TWO shoulder surgeries in the past 10 months because of a football injury. Now granted, my son's shoulder injury was much more severe than a sprain.. we're talking dislocation, tears of three different groups of shoulder muscles, tendon damage, etc. The surgeon said it looked like minced meat in there the muscle was so shredded. After two surgeries and months of physical therapy, he still does not have full strength in that shoulder or full mobility and a third surgery has not yet been ruled out.

My point though, in bringing up my son's injury is this...he had good days with it where it felt "ok" and he had days where any kind of movement of the shoulder or arm was excruciatingly painful. Now I know Aaron's is apparently just a sprain in comparison, BUT it's still a very painful injury, and also one that has significant impact on mobility and strength. IMHO, if there is any question at all of further injury to the shoulder or if it is bothering him to the point where he can't throw that well, one game out is not a bad thing if you consider the alternative of missing many more games or risking significant injury to that shoulder.

What Peter said was a 5, the doctor figured should have been a 10. Completely torn rotator cuff. Torn meniscus. Torn muscles. Bone fragments. the works. He lived with that for 2 years, because he has an other-worldly pain tolerance. The severity of pain is all relative.

Point is, Aaron's ability to perform is dependent upon his ability to manage the pain.

Suck it up Rodgers after all you know Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy will throw you out there because you are their little china doll. After all Rodgers played what 4-10 years or something like that with a torn ACL as was reported on here in another thread so whats a minor shoulder sprain. Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy need him on the field my opinion is sit the kid down because as we have seen our o-line can't protect anyone and yes i'm being sincere there towards Rodgers. So the question is will Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy swallow their pride and live with the i told you so's or will they risk the kids future?

Rodgers talked way too much about the injury, almost to the point of whining.
I wasn't impressed.
It would have been enough to say: I'm rehabbing it and it will probably be a gameday decision by coach McCarthy; and let it go at that.

It does not surprise me a bit that rodgers got hurt. In fact I expected it. Nice job TT, way to go. What do we need a HOF QB for. Heck, we got no experience at QB, but at least your 1st round pick is here to guide the Packers into the future.

What a joke, Ted Thompson and the packers will be the laughing stock of the NFL come January.
So if you meet me Have some courtesy, Have some sympathy, and some taste

it would help AR's arm if we can get a run game going so he might not have to throw every play

This is sick. Pain is there for a reason. It's there to tell our brain that there is some damage done. If it was a damaged ankle, no biggie. But if you take a shot to dull the pain in your shoulder allowing you to have full range of motion, you're going to be like, wow it doesn't hurt. I can throw very hard and it doesn't hurt. After the game it will hurt. Hopefully these geniuses aren't risking permanent damage or risking losing him for a prolonged period of time. Or hopefully they aren't risking turning him into a noodle arm like Chad Pennington.

Which I said was part of it ....if he can manage the pain, but I would think it would also rely on whether he has the strength and mobility to run a passing game, especially since our run game is questionable of late. But pain isn't the only thing. If he doesnt have the strength or the mobility to throw the ball, he shouldn't play. If there is a chance of further serious injury, wouldn't it be better if he sat out a game and allowed a little more time to heal rather than play in one game and end up hurting it so badly he's out for the season?
