Zero,

I don't think he was yanked because McCarthy and company are trying to create the idea that Rodgers can't play through pain as a trick.

I think Rodgers is hurting right now. He's only a few days removed from the injury and only a day removed from rehabbing. I don't think McCarthy wants Rodgers out there in front of the public showing his pain. Teams could see that and if they feel this shoulder is as bad as I'm sure a lot of Packer fans are having nightmares of, teams could take a cheap shot.

I'm not saying Atlanta is like that, but it's football and in the moment you do what instinct tells you.

My guess is he'll play. He'll throw 15-20 passes and the running game will have to prove it's worth this week.

Primary reason he was yanked is to not aggravate the injury. From my knowledge a strain/sprain heals best on its own without being stressed. I could be wrong, I'm no doctor. Thus, more rest = better shoulder.

I also wonder if Flynn's lack of good play had a role in this yank of Rodgers. I ... no because if we had a veteran I'm willing to bet the same thing would have happened.

Many many scenarios, but the desire not to further injure the shoulder of Rodgers I think was the primary reason he was rested, yanked or what have you.

PS, the NFL already knows Rodgers can play through pain. He played two quarters with a broken foot against the New England Patriots.

I would probably have a noodle arm right about now. I played the position, and was 24 once, plus I stayed at a Holiday Inn.

To put a positive spin on this thing, if Rodgers does play, at least now he can concentrate on throwing accurately with some touch instead of bullets all the time 😃

Funny you say that. I was going to add that I believe it was an injury to Brett that assisted in him learning to throw with more touch, rather than rockets!

earthquake (16h) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (19h) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (22h) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (23h) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.

dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
