I dont think the lions can win much without stafford, they can still get really close, but it seems stafford was pretty clutch last year, and without him lately, theyve really crumbled at the end

Hoping Starks gets 20+ carries this game. We'll need him to get ready for the Giants game.

Of course, don't want to overlook this game. The Lions somehow manage to almost upset a lot of good teams.

Thursday Practice.. the telling day.

LIONS II: Thursday practice report
By Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel

Dec. 9, 2010 11:51 a.m. |(0) Comments

Green Bay -- The general health of the Green Bay Packers took a giant step forward Thursday with the return of several prominent players to the practice field.

CB Charles Woodson, who injured his ankle in practice Wednesday, was back on the field taking part in the jog-through. He actually did more than just stand at his position as injured players will sometimes do. He jogged around the field at a decent pace without any problems.

He did not stick around for the full-pads workout.

LT Chad Clifton, who was very limited Wednesday because of a concussion and soreness in both knees, was back at practice in full pads. He took part in the jog-through and stuck around afterwards, which is a sign he was going to take part in the regular practice.

He did not take part in the only full-team drill the team conducted during the periods the media is allowed to watch, but given he was in pads, it's likely he took part in some team activity. The very fact he was out there means he passed a test from an independent neurologist.

Finally, S Atari Bigby made his return from a hamstring injury he suffered at Minnesota Nov. 21. He had not practiced in any form over the past three weeks until Thursday. He was in full pads and appeared ready to take part in everything.

Also:

* DE Cullen Jenkins (calf) and FB Korey Hall (knee) were out.
* S Anthony Smith (ankle) still hasn't been cleared to practice.
* LB Clay Matthews (shin) sat out practice as he normally does on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
* CB Pat Lee (ankle) did not practice.
* DE Ryan Pickett (ankle) was in pads and appeared to be full-go.

I'll update with coach Mike McCarthy's comments after practice.

Friday's practice is a bit more telling, since if players don't practice Friday, typically, they do not play.

Sucks about Chad.

This game is a potential banana skin for the Packers.

We have to start out fring on all cylinders and really go for the jugular.

This is a must win divisional game.

If we get out to a good early lead the D will have a field day with sacks and interceptions

The Lions always seem to stick around in games early then fade in the 2nd half.

I want this one over by half time.

No predictions on the score from me this week.

This one scares me too.True, they haven't won many games, but they have been close many times. I think it's losing by 5 or less 6 times. So it's not a "gimmee".
Hopefully we will get up on them early.

Scary thing is Packers always play down to their opponents. In this case, I hope that Stanton starting at quarterback doesn't fool the defense into thinking they don't have to play at 100%.

Offense should be alright here. I don't think they have the ability to stop the Packers passing game and hopefully we can get another good game out of Starks.

I'm still docking this as a trap game, they almost stole one from the Bears again.

2-10 record doesn't describe the Lions.

I think the team knows how important this game is and wont be looking forward to another game or anything. They are professionals and know what needs to be done.

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.

Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
    Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.

beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
