Police in Indiana say they arrested an Amish man who arrived in a horse-drawn buggy for a presumed rendezvous with a 12-year-old girl to whom he had sent sexually explicit cell phone messages.

Officers arrested 21-year-old William R. Yoder on Wednesday after he rode up to the Takathemoke Restaurant in Milroy, Indiana, and approached an undercover agent.

"The suspect arrived, in a one-horse carriage as he said he would, was identified by the undercover officer confirming his identity and was taken into custody without incident," said Connersville, Indiana, police Detective Craig Pennington.

Yoder was taken to Fayette County Jail, about 60 miles east of Indianapolis, where in a videotaped statement he confessed that he sent video messages, naked pictures of himself and lewd text messages.

According to Pennington, Yoder said he believed he was going to have sex with the girl, that he realized it was a bad decision and that he had never done anything like it before.

The case came to light after the girl's parents contacted police in Connersville to report that their daughter had received three sexually explicit messages, including a request that she send back naked pictures of herself, Pennington said.

The phone was handed over to Indiana State Police, and a forensic examination revealed that 600 text messages, along with six picture messages and two video messages, had been exchanged between the girl and Yoder.

"I am happy that no further victimization occurred, and that he was at least truthful about his description," Pennington said, "and I believe that the communication between child and parent, however awkward it may have been, was crucial in stopping this behavior and culminated in a successful arrest and seizure of the suspect and his cell phone."

Bond was set at $20,000 with a preliminary trial date of September 19.

What kind of physical attraction is there to a 12 year old girl? I can see the physical attraction to say a 16 year old girl who acts and looks like she's in her 20's, but a 12 year old?

If you can successfully identify the age of every 12-year-old you meet, you are a much more perceptive man than I am.

I'm not sure how to take this, but when her and I go to movies, she doesn't get carded and if you've ever seen me, I do NOT look my age. So, either they somehow know I'm her father figure, or they think she's old enough for an R rated movie. Perhaps they just don't give a damn? lol

I just re-read what I said in the first line. I suppose if I was 21 years old, I wouldn't be 'targeting' a girl 20+, but rather 18+ or maybe 17 who's mature so in that light, I suppose I could see a 12 year old fooling someone in their late teens or very early 20's.

Too many laws.

The easiest way to tell if she's closer to 12 than 22...five minutes of conversation.

The second easiest way: look at her fingernails. If she knows how to keep nails more manicure-look rather than "my friends and I were playing" look. I don't care if women wear nail polish or not (though IMO a high end manicure with red polish can be sexy as hell with matching lip gloss), but nothing in physical appearance says "high school or younger" more to me than the way the girl uses nail polish.

(waiting for 4PackGirl and Packerchick to shudder at this)

By the way...I thought the Amish didn't use modern tech...how do you text without a cell phone?
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

As far as the attraction to the young-uns.. I don't think he was mistaken. I think he, like some guys, are more attracted to the younger looking females. I've always been more attracted to young looking girls in my raging hormone not-getting-any early years. Some guys like fine aged wine, others like booze, and some like freshly brewed skunky beer.

That reminds me of years ago, I was 20 and helping my best friends parents paint their house while he was in Iraq. The neighbor girl, who was friends with his younger sisters, came over and I overheard her telling them how hot she thought I was. She was developed, thus I assumed she was 15-16. She then told them, loud enough for me to hear as well, how she wanted to bang me. I almost dropped my paintbrush and my friend's sisters exclaimed how that's wrong because I was almost 21 and she was only in 7th grade. That was when I did the math and found that she was 13. And if memory serves me correctly, that was when I climbed down the ladder and hid in the house until she went home.

SURE you did, Formo!!! LOLOL!!!
You know what?
One of my first dates was when i was 18. I was baby sitting my 2 nephews, when there was a knock at the door.....i opened it, and there was this woman in a dress, holding a small child. She told me she was my sister in law's neice, and asked if i would tell her she stopped by when they got home. She was giving me the "eye", and i could tell she liked me. I swear, i thought she was older then me. She easily looked like she was in her early to mid 20's.
When my sister in law came home, and i asked her about her niece, she said, "Cindy is 13!" She told me she was baby sitting the little kid and it wasn't hers.
I actually went out with her for about a month. But she was so wild after me, she kept trying to get me to do naughty things with her. So finally, i got smart and dropped her.
A few months later, she was pregnant and had twins.
But trust me, NO ONE would have thought she was 13!

Zero2Cool (10h) : $170 guaranteed. This might impact Jordan Love
Zero2Cool (10h) : Lions are signing QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million extension
Zero2Cool (14h) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (14h) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays

buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes
Mucky Tundra (3-May) : @ProFootballTalk Jaylen Warren: Steelers' special teams coach has discussed Justin Fields returning kicks.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
