Some might say it is too early for this discussion, however if the press is talking about it then it is a discussion. Some people say P. Manning should win without playing a down just because the Colts have not won a game. Idiotic!

However.. I do not buy this either...

"OK, now let's get serious. I'll tell you who else I'd push for MVP ... Tom Brady. Look at his supporting cast. Now look at the guys around Rodgers. It's not close. People tell me, "Aw, but Brady has Wes Welker." Yeah, the guy was a journeyman before going to New England. Tom Brady made Wes Welker. All I'm saying is that in the truest sense of the award, Brady is more qualified as an MVP. And Rodgers? Make him Offensive Player of the Year."

That is horse sh#t. If Brady "Made" Wes Welker, one could go down the list of Packer Receivers that Aaron has made and it is more then one.

It's the same argument that has always surrounded Brady. He gets more credit because his fans like to claim his supporting cast is awful, which is not the case.

I can't stand the "circumstantial" shit that causes people to rank 1 player over the other. Let the numbers and the wins speak for themselves, don't handicap a player because he is on a good team. Aaron's numbers at this point in the season are much more impressive than Brady's.

Brady MVP? That stuff got debunked when Matt frickin' Cassell went 11-5 with the Pats.

Even through my Packer vision this isn't even close. The stretch of games that Rodgers has put up is extraordinary. Rodgers looks like Brady in 2007. He seems unstoppable, but each week I think, "Ok he can't play as well as last week." Yet every week he has played at the same level which can't be said for Brady. As of right now this should be a no contest with Rodgers, but everyone loves to love Brady in the media so Aaron Rodgers will probably not get the nod unless Bieber-lover has another game or two like Buffalo.

not too early to talk about it. I was thinking about Aaron taking home the MVP when I looked at the year to date QB stats this morning.

People are always going to talk about why someone other than the most desiring player wins an award. No doubt the sit round trying to justify a wild suggestion and then watch to see how many people they can get to agree with their absurd line or reasoning. Sort of like the nimrods that try and see how many people will follow/circulate a bogus chain email.

I suppose they feel it is so boring if everyone kisses the ring of the most qualifies/outstanding player. Which in this case is Rodgers.

It's Aaron's at this point in the season.

But if Brees continues playing like he did last night, Rodgers can kiss that MVP trophy goodbye.

Guess I should have posted this in the Around The NFL forum since someone moved it here from the Green Bay Packers forum where I posted it?

I do not understand the rules?

I thought this topic was about Aaron Rodgers?

Oh well. Whatever...

I think Brady and Manning are about to start declining and their time is coming to an end in the next few years much like Marino and Elway when Favre was on top. Just the cycle of the NFL and it's time for the media to move beyond Brady.

You must've had to dig deep to find someone who thinks Brady should win it. If the voting were held right now, Rodgers would win in a landslide, possibly by a unanimous vote. I don't see either one of these guys slacking off much as the season goes on, and Rodgers' early momentum means that Brady will have to decisively outproduce him during the remainder of the season in order to win it.
