Part of the fun of a scrimmage like Family Night is that you know where the the veterans stand in their ability against NFL competition. Then you can compare how the rookies do against a known level of play.
The other fun thing is watching those with that spark develop.
A fellow fan was discussing with me the other day how he watched in the stands at Lambeau this unknown WR from some unkown college get into his first exhibition game in the final few minutes. The receiver displayed great leaping ability catching an overthrown ball and went in for the touchdown on his first reception as a Packer. He, and those with him said "We'll have to keep our eyes on that receiver he might be a good one. Remember his name, Donald Driver."
