Offer them Jennings and Hawk.

Can you imagine Harvin and Cobb? That would be awesome.

I guess the Queens are pretty set at MLB though.

I wouldnt want to pay him that money... I rather trade for Larry Fitz if your paying that much. Its all unrealistic but fun to say what if...

I took a quick look to see if I could find it in a different form but wanted to know peoples thoughts on Rashard Mendenhall?
Sorry if this was already posted somewhere else.

The Green Bay Packers may have officially hit rock bottom with their run game. It’s time for a change of pace, and drafting or signing a good running back with power and speed. One running back that would fit this kind of style is Pittsburgh Steelers free agent Rashard Mendenhall.

Mendenhall was robbed of much of this past season due to injuries, and a torn ACL that he suffered in week 17 of 2011. Specialists always say that it normally takes a year to get over an ACL injury before a player is back to normal, Adrian Peterson is the exception. If this is true the Packers could be cashing in at the right time if they take a chance on Mendenhall.

When Mendenhall is healthy he has the speed and cutting ability to find the hole, and also be a bruiser if needed. The Packers struggle in short yardage so this would be an automatic upgrade for the run game. Mendenhall is also great in the screen game, something the Packers would like to use more but don’t have the players for it. He’s also used to running in adverse conditions. Playing in the AFC North is comparable weather wise to playing in the NFC North. He’s a tough runner with some attitude that the Packers need. He would most likely come relatively cheap, because of the fact that he’ll be labeled “damaged goods,” it is a chance worth taking. This would be better than the chance the Packers took on Cedric Benson last year.

The only real knack on Mendenhall is the fact that he may have a bit of a fumbling problem. Packer fans will remember him fumbling at a crucial point of the game in Super Bowl XLV. If that can be corrected then it would be in the Packers best interest to take a shot at Mendenhall.

Now they just need to figure out some way to trade a free agent that they hold no rights to.

There is something about Mendenhall I don't care for. I can't quite place my finger on it. I have watched him since he was a Fr at Illinois. Had had some amazing games and he completely disappeared other time. I am not sure if it is effort or attitude or what. Maybe I am a bit leary because he has missed most of 2 of his 5 seasons and does have a tendency to cough up the ball.

Adam Schein  has him listed as one of the more risky FA

7. Rashard Mendenhall

I'd rather play with 10 men on offense than put Mendenhall at running back. He's been a bust as a player. He was suspended in 2012 for being a bad teammate. Mendenhall can't hold on to the football and can't stay healthy. Otherwise, it has all worked out.

The Steelers will let him go. Another team shouldn't get duped by where he was drafted. You can't bank on this cat.

Gregg Rosenthal

Mendenhall is the biggest boom or bust option here. Injuries and attitude are question marks, but he's the best candidate on this list to carry the ball 250 times or more.

a different Rosenthal link

40) Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers: He's a talented young player with potential to be an above-average starter at a cheap price. On the downside: Even Mike Tomlin couldn't get through to him.

Kareem Copeland

Rashard Mendenhall's time in Pittsburgh is likely over.

The Steelers running back will be unrestricted when the free agency period begins and he didn't exactly give the organization incentive to keep him around. He missed the first four weeks as he recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, then was unproductive when healthy. So unproductive that he lost his job to Jonathan Dwyer.

Things bottomed out when Mendenhall was suspended for skipping the Week 14 game against the San Diego Chargers after he was told not to dress.

Mendenhall finished 2012 with 182 yards on 51 carries and no touchdowns.

I guess I don't want Mike to have to babysit any players. "Injury prone" is a hurdle to consider. Fumbling is a issue to consider attitude is an issue to consider. Why get a player that has all three issues?
GB is looking to resolve problems in the backfield not add more questions.

If we had proof that Champions were made via spending big bucks during FA I would want us to travel that route. It seems over and over again that it either acts as a band-aid to re-building or a detriment.

There is some thought from NFL commentators that many FAs will be disappointed this year and come the end of next week many will come to realization that the big pay-day they expect will not happen. Maybe there is a chance Jennings will stay?

I prefer the reward in-house approach that we have taken to. Bringing in outsiders at big bucks has to create some issues in the locker room. There are exceptions to that, but I think by and large it to be true.
