The Maine product has worked as both a run-blocker and a pass-catcher. He also provides depth at the overlooked-until-the-starter-gets-hurt position of long snapper.

Last month, the Packers lost tight end Tom Crabtree to the Buccaneers.  The Packers have now replaced him on the offseason roster, signing veteran Matthew Mulligan. Weston Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that the Packers signed Mulligan, a four-year veteran, to a one-year deal. Mulligan has appeared in 50 career games.  Not tendered

Mulligan reportedly picked the Packers over the 49ers,

I like it. Basically Crabtree at a cheaper price than he would have come. Maybe a little more to offer in the passing game or at least at a more consistent basis (not taking away from some of those big YAC touchdowns he had last year!). Regardless he can block in the run game and probably play ST I'd imagine so he fills that gap of the 3rd or 4th Tight end.

🤔 Nice ass nerdmann.

Kidding aside. Could he work up to be the 2nd TE on the depth chart this year? Crazy question right??🙄
Or is D.J. Williams/Andrew Quarless to good to let that happen?

My bet is that this low priced, low profile free agent that we didn't even need won't even be on the team come September.
