Aaron Rodgers, playing the most heralded and valuable job in the world. It is time to recongize the quarterback as the almighty rulers of the world. I'll drop a little factoid on you inferior folks. If the President was a quarterback, the economy would be flourishing!

They play an important role.. but without a supporting cast as a team, they are going to hoist few Lombardi's.

You can take an good talent, see Joe Flacco, put him on a balanced and complete team and you can and will win.

One does not have to have an elite QB to win football games, it gives you more options to win, but so does a good running game. Or a blue chip offensive line. Or a dominate and complete defense.

They are a emphasized player no doubt, but also an over embraced, hyped component of a team.

I have said it before and I will say it again.. if you build balance into your offense and talent, you can win with less than elite players.. but if you build a passing oriented offense like the Colts (and us) and then remove good talent at that QB position, mostly definitely you will struggle.

I will drop down a level in college, rarely does the national champion have a dynamic passing game. In the game of football, and yes even at the pro level, there is more to the game than just the best passing team wins.

And just to be clear, I agree that if you lack at least a competent QB you are in trouble because it takes away much of the passing game elements and removes balance. Balance, Balance, balance.

Additionally, there is a almost direct correlation between the top ranked defenses yearly and how effectively they can run the ball. Not that they have to be run oriented teams, but teams that can and will run the ball effectively when they need or should.

Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
