Against the highest-scoring offense in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers decided they were better without linebacker A.J. Hawk in the middle.
Hawk said the coaches talked with him this week about the changes, but he said it wasn't necessary for them to explain their reasons for going with Barrington. He said that he had played too long in the NFL not to see changes happen all the time, and that there are reasons for it.
"We talked," he said. "They communicated well with me. They told me how they were going to match things up and try to put different packages together. They don't have to have a big meeting with me. I've been here for awhile. I think I've done it all with playing and not playing. It's not something that's going to change my view of things."
