LoL, telling your defense "You are NOT the stepchild!" ... I laugh at this because he's the step-father to the kids of the CEO of the company I work for. Fact is they are a very happy family, I just thought it funny to use stepchild negative when you yourself have stepchildren.

Anyhow, I am excited to see how the new defense rolls out and destroys teams by keeping them under 20 points. We just have to hope Aaron Rodgers doesn't throw the damn games away like he did vs Panthers.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Mike McCarthy doesn’t care what you call the scheme new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine brought with him to the Green Bay Packers. He’s not into labels, and it doesn’t sound like Pettine is, either.

“If you asked him if he plays a 4-3 or a 3-4,” McCarthy said, “he’d say, ‘Yes.’”

What McCarthy wants, however, is a total transformation when it comes to the state of mind on that side of the ball.

“It’s got to be a mentality,” McCarthy said last week at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. “I’m sick and tired of our defense feeling like the stepchild. I mean, how many times do you have to tell them, ‘You’re not the stepchild.’ That’s a blatant statement, and it’s not a cure-all. But it’s definitely a starting point.

“So, now, with that, you’ve got to give them the opportunity to be better.”

I'll believe it when I see it and greatly look forward to being shown that I underestimated them. Let's go Pack!

Change, it is the Theme of the Packers today. From the GM to the Coaches to the Players, change is #1 on the GB Menu. That change is now heavily focused upon making GB's Defense better in 2018 than they were in 2017. That said, most believe that the most needed change on GB's Defense needs to take place with the Packer Pass Rush.

The CB positions are also a concern following the 2017 campaign. IMO, Kevin King will step up this year and inspire better play from the Safeties as well. Randall and the others at Training Camp will have to fight for the #2 CB spot this season. The key position/s will be the edge rusher/s and weather they can put real pressure on opposing QB's in 2018.

If GB has a "weak link" from the 2017 roster, it is in my opinion it's poor pass rush. That could soon change as FA's and Draft picks draw near.

Well, the ONLY way they will make me feel like they have "arrived" is if they PROVE it on the field.
Hopefully that is what they will do.
If the defense can improve to be at least decent, I believe the offense can be great for us.
Rodgers had to be playing somewhat scared against the Panthers, as he was aware that one bad tackle, and he could be in serious trouble. If he would have rebroken his collar bone, it may have ended his career.
I think he will come in and be the Aaron we have come to appreciate.
He will be prepared.
JMO of course.

Too many forget that you win or loose as a team. That the CBs coverage of opposing WRs is directly tied to the play of the Pass Rushers or that the performance of the RBs is directly tied to the performance of the Offensive Line.

Even the best QBs can't wait for their WRs to get open past more than a few seconds.
Some criticize a QB unfairly for holding the football, but fail to see that his WR/TEs were covered like blankets. They see that a CB got burned, but fail to see that the opposing GB was under no real pass rush pressure.

Winning OR Loosing is a TEAM effort. Each position directly affects some other position. You win as a team or you can loose as a team.
