Scott has yet to play in an NFL game, but offers a good combination of size and speed. The Packers  are signing wide receiver Caleb Scott  to their practice squad according to a report from ESPN’s Rob Demovsky . He was part of a group of players who worked out for the Packers  earlier this week.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Scott was a teammate of Packers linebacker Oren Burks  at Vanderbilt, catching 72 passes for 1,061 yards and four touchdowns over his four-year career with the Commodores. Despite turning in a 4.4 40-yard dash and a 37-inch vertical leap at Vanderbilt’s pro day, he wasn’t selected in the 2018 NFL Draft  and hasn’t made much of an impact at the NFL level since then.

He spent some time with the Seattle Seahawks  but has yet to appear in an NFL game.

The Packers have shown a preference for big-bodied receivers in the Brian Gutekunst era, and Scott fits that profile. In the near term, though, he’s likely to be a strictly special teams contributor, should he ever make his way to the 53-man roster.

As usual Gute is turning over the bottom of the roster looking for someone who might contribute. I'm glad he is. You just never know when you find the late bloomer or a guy who fits this system. Over the years we have seen plenty of players who don't fit the system it would be nice to hit on a couple that are a fit.

Lazard wasn’t wanted by anyone .
And let’s face it, he’s SLOW.
Yet he always seems to find a way to get open. And makes the catch.
Speed is nice, for sure.
But football speed has more benefits.

Remember how Greg Jennings got. How he thought he was the greatest of all times. He let his ego take hold of him, and when he left Green Bay, he did nothing.
Having a great QB like Rodgers helps average guys reach way above what they might be with a lesser QB.
And this year especially, with Rodgers relying more on his short check downs, is really opening up the offense.
I LOVE what I’m seeing!!!
