Wow, Wayne. I missed this thread.

I hope everything is going well. It's amazing what modern medicine can do. Even more amazing that nothing's been found that's not as physically and mentally destructive and draining as chemo. I hope you, your wife and your family pull through together. This kind of stuff never impacts just one person.

Your last updat was relatively positive. I sincerely hope it keeps going that way. Stay strong!

Thanks Rocky. As of this week she has crossed the halfway point for radiation treatments. We still have a ways to go. She does have a good attitude but the process is draining on her. We've only driven to see the grandsons once or twice this year. It's a 3 hour trip soon to be a 5 hour trip. Maybe if we had better rail service she would be more willing to travel. Maybe not because that would be a longer trip but she would be able to get up and walk around some.

Yesterday was a big day for us. She finished her radiation treatments. 20 treatments over a 4 week period. It was a grind. I liked leaving the office early every day but the reason stunk. The staff at the radiation clinic were amazing. Always positive, encouraging and uplifting. I don't know how they can do it every single day with every patient.

Our doctor has an amazing story of his trials and tribulations to simply get to the US. What he had to endure to get his US degree was astonishing. (He already has a degree in radiology in his county but had to earn one here as well.) He said he gave up everything to come here. His wife didn't want to emigrate. He volunteered at a local hospital while going back to medical school just so he could be near medicine. He told them he would do anything even shine shoes if he could be there. He said he met a cardiologist that he went to school with in his country. The other doctor was mocking him. That motivated him to excel. He drove Uber to support himself. It is people like this man who made America great. Not politicians with their sound bites and slogans.

Back to my wife. She still has chemo treatments until December. People in the oncology world will hate how I describe it but it is a "little" chemo treatment. Her first series was 3-4 different drug concoctions. Now she is down to just one. A different one that what she was given before. It has it's side effects. Nausea and achy joints are the main two. The good news is her hair is growing back. S-L-O-W-L-Y! This morning she almost had a 5 O'Clock shadow. Maybe it's more like a 1:15-2:30 shadow. That's exciting for her. We've heard both the oncologist and radiologist tell her she is "cancer free"!
She bought a tshirt last week.

It's humbling.

I plan to buy her a pink diamond pendant in December. SHH.

Amazing as it sounds, she doesn't. Who would have thunk it?

Excellent news! Having lost three family members to cancer, and having family and friends that have made it through, I can relate and am very happy for you and your wife and family. It's a terrible thing to go through and I'm so glad to hear that she has a clean bill of health.

My friend got it (Lymphoma if I recall correctly) a few years back, she was 34 or so at the time, and the way she described it was downright science fiction. She had a "chemo purse" that she was able to wear that administered the treatment. She could even go to work and everything, which was equal parts surprising and amazing to me. I think it was caught early so the treatment wasn't as severe or invasive as it could have been.

Thanks EQ. Medical tech has changed a lot in the past few years. My Dad had prostate cancer in 2005. They did some of the same things but I can clearly see some of the differences. For him chemo was the last ditch stab before he passed away. This time chemo was first, before surgery. They wanted to shrink the tumor first. Chemo is also the last treatment. But that is only because one of the "receptors" was positive.

Very glad to hear this, as mentioned on the Facebook. I'm cancer ignorant (thankfully) so I'm just glad that it seems things are clearing up for Rhonda.

go.pack.go. (2h) : Price will depend on how big the tree is, liability that it includes such as threatening a house, building, fence, etc
go.pack.go. (2h) : I am a procurement forester but I help with tree work on the side from time to time. Learned all about it in college and whatnot
go.pack.go. (2h) : No more tree of course
go.pack.go. (2h) : Tree removal is very expensive, and yes tree companies should remove the tree from your property all together and leave your place looking as if they weren’t even there. Except for there being no more
Zero2Cool (5h) : I wasn't expecting it to be cheap. I was thinking the three in front maybe ~1,500 but i could buy a stump grinder for that.
dfosterf (5h) : It's not going to be cheap. Certified arborists make good money. You cannot do A or E without one. If D fell on the house it looks like it would be no big deal, but the picture might be fooling me.
Zero2Cool (5h) : I have a feeling these trees being removed gonna cost me lot more than I was bargaining
Zero2Cool (5h) : I haven't had much issue ever will drills. I have a pretty firm grip. BUT I also haven't had a chainsaw in my hand while trying to balance on a ladder
Zero2Cool (5h) : Hmm, maybe I just use my sawsall to cut it down. I'll be back in four months.
dfosterf (5h) : Ever had a drill get stuck in the work and twist your hand? Exact same speed as a chainsaw kickback. I don't think even batman dodges that.
Zero2Cool (5h) : WTF is the dark knight doing cutting down dudes trees!!!!
Zero2Cool (5h) : Not a worry, I'll wear my Batman suit!! Imagine the photos!!
dfosterf (5h) : Oh oh, lol Chainsaw accidents average 80 stitches in the emergency room according to the US Forest service. 🤣
Zero2Cool (5h) : holy crap, you can rent a 35 ft lift for $300 for a whole day??
Zero2Cool (6h) : I'll post pictures. One of them is probably 50 feet tall
dfosterf (6h) : I'm sure when he gets his estimates they will render opinions on his plan
dfosterf (6h) : Or dumped, depending on the truck
dfosterf (6h) : Thing is, if he's hiring a tree service, my guess is we are talking some big trees. That shit usually gets craned on and off the chipper shredder truck.
beast (6h) : That's why some wooden ramps can be nice. And heck, you got the wood with the tree. Turn it into a ramp, wheel barrow the rest onto the truck 😋
dfosterf (6h) : I don't know the diameters you'd be dealing with, but tree sections are almost invariably a hell of a lot heavier than they look
Zero2Cool (6h) : Eh, that's not right. It's more like three an half feet. Still sucks loading things into it.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Damn tailgate is almost four feet above ground.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Considering there's no way in hell I can lift something much longer into my damn truck, shouldn't be problem!
Zero2Cool (6h) : Wood must be cut to 4-foot sections to be accepted at the Waste Transfer Station.
Mucky Tundra (7h) : Zero2Stumped
Cheesey (7h) : Sounds like ZERO is....STUMPED! LOL!
Zero2Cool (7h) : Basically cost of cutting tree x,y and z individually, and cost of stump grinding per tree and clean up haha
Zero2Cool (7h) : I have stump grinding listed too as question. I feel kinda bad cuz I got like five quotes I want haha
dfosterf (7h) : Don't forget about the stump. That you can diy, but stump grinders are expensive to rent. They are a bit of a beast to operate, too.
Zero2Cool (7h) : Ugh. I'm so damn ignorant on this stuff!! Thanks for the heads up.
dfosterf (7h) : Some of the municipality dumps that accept tree debris have a maximum diameter that they will accept, so you might want to check on that before deciding on who is taking the tree
Zero2Cool (8h) : Packers announce Family Night will be held August 5th
Zero2Cool (8h) : I'm not sure what to expect, never did this before and first place comes today for estimate. I just compiling list of questions haha
dfosterf (8h) : Kidding aside, you sure they aren't coming back for it? Maybe went to get the chipper shredder?
dfosterf (8h) : Unless you hired the tree cut down and left company, which we don't have in our yellow pages 🙃
dfosterf (9h) : Well, it's called tree removal, so you'd think removal would at least be part of the conversation 😉
Zero2Cool (9h) : Looks like there's a public works spot near me that I can just dump it at. That might save me a few bucks
Zero2Cool (9h) : When you have a tree removed, do they commonly take the tree or is that on you?
dfosterf (10h) : I missed those comments. Curious as to what Bakhtiari said...
Zero2Cool (11h) : Sean Rhyan seems to have been raw deal with what got him suspended. At least, based on David Bakhtiari's comments. Too soon to really know about the kid yet
go.pack.go. (12h) : Dfoster, what’s wrong with Tucker Kraft?
go.pack.go. (12h) : Cheesey, yes I’ve been extremely busy lol
dfosterf (4-Jun) : Slip a kid standing outside the stadium 20 bucks and let him make the pick going forward. That collective obviously cannot.
dfosterf (4-Jun) : By any reasonable criteria to date, Sean Rhyan was the worst pick in the 3rd round last year
dfosterf (4-Jun) : Thus far, out front office failed yet again in the 3rd round of the draft.
Cheesey (4-Jun) : Gopackgo, I'm sure you are more then a little busy!😁
go.pack.go. (4-Jun) : Thanks everyone who congratulated me! Sorry I haven’t been on in a few days and I’m just now seeing the responses
Cheesey (2-Jun) : Kevin, you got it! They won't feel as bad about themselves! "Hey Ma! Ain't they losers? And you thought WE was bad!!!"
Cheesey (2-Jun) : Kevin on "The View". ..."Kevin, are you a right wing or left wing? ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!" Kevin:"I'm a CHICKEN wing!"🤪
Zero2Cool (2-Jun) : I think people like those "reality" shows feel insecure in their life, so watching others to put them down makes them feel better.
