I have to admit, that I don't like that he has tied Favre with 3 MVP's. But, it's hard to argue that any player has been more valuable to his team's success this year. Congratulations Peyton... hopefully my bitterness won't last long.

Pretty hard to argue with what Manning accomplished the last 10 games of the season. 19 TDs to 5 INTs. With a record of 9-1 in those games. Even sitting out the last week after 7 attempts.

This year, there wa sno real clear cut favorites for the ENTIRE year..( maybe turner,or Ryan )

it goes to show that what looks to be sure fire mvps at start and middle of season, the middle and end of season really sticks home for SOME voters

I hate Manning....but props...He's a damn good QB.

I do like his commercials though.

He deserves it. These past couple years, we've seen a grittier side of Peyton Manning, playing hurt and persevering when he doesn't always have his best stuff. He's no longer perceived as the fair-haired prima donna type, which I never thought was an accurate perception anyway.

Why all the hate for Manning? He's a great QB and although he gets fiery I've never really seen him be a douche. Is it because he's too good? 😛

He had a really good year. Lead his team to the playoffs after a slow start. The slow start could be attributed to missing most of the off season. Looking at Peyton's stats makes me feel really good about Aaron Rodgers.

When the NFL awards the MVP award, it's not really the most valuable player per se but the "dude with the good stats and wins".

I argue that Matt Ryan has been the most valuable player to his franchise. The turnaround that has occurred, at least for this season, overshadows the excellent but albeit expected play from Manning. Ryan has made A LOT of people forget about the sorry state of affairs after Vick. Everyone was predicting that the Falcons would finish last. Somehow they ended the season in contention with a legitimate franchise QB. He's bought respect back to the Falcons.

Of course that's not the way the MVP is awarded, so I guess my points are moot.
