There are some pretty impressive line players that learned under this guy.. damn that would make me feel better about our chances of growth along the offensive line.

Miami Fires O-Line Coach

From ESPN.com:

The Miami Dolphins have fired offensive line coach Mike Maser, league sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

Maser was the first assistant hired by then-new coach Tony Sparano a year ago. He previously was an offensive line coach for the Carolina Panthers in 2003-06, for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 1995 to 2002 and at Boston College from 1981 through 1993.

The Dolphins were the NFLs No. 11 rushing offense in 2008, averaging 118.6 rushing yards per game, and the 12th-best offense overall with 345.6 yards per game.

I certainly wouldn't be upset if we chose to go in that direction.

I said in another thread before anyone got fired, that I thought Campen and Moss should have their necks on the chopping block as well as Stock and Sanders.
Granted we have had injuries but the O-line just hasn't shown any progress.

I don't have much opinion on Campen, but our O line has been an embarrassment.

Dj vu... for the third freaking year.. sorry if I sound like a broken record, but this offensive line has been inconsistent throughout his stay.. I miss the days of Beightol..

Can't wait for the fundamentals line yet again from the coaching staff in regards to the offensive line.. anyone got a kendo stick I can use as a preemptive strike on my noggin' to the upcoming headache after today's pressers? UserPostedImage

No but has your wife ever thrown a scrapbooking hen party in your presence? There are many kinds of pain to endure in life my good man.

Saturday I got the pleasure of painting 2 of my kids' bedrooms complete with hangover. Yesterday's pain was mild.

I want to say that I'd prefer some behemoths on the inside, but our interior O-line has been doing a pretty darn good job.

Maybe you really can't teach an old dog new tricks and that's why Campen is having so little success installing a new scheme with our old tackles. At this point, though, that seems more like wishfull thinking than anything else.

With the way the young guys on the inside are playing, I have a little more confidence in Campen, but I'd still like to see him actually groom a good tackle.

I don't know how much use it will have to fire him at this point, that sounds more like something for when this thread was created, but I'd sure give him a long hard look in the next off-season. Or the O-line will have to have some miracle comeback this year, which I seriously doubt.

dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.

Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left

TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : I think he ended up with a terrible RAS score
