TE is a hard one because the Vikings and Bears both use their guy as another receiver running more routes and such where we use Donald Lee as a blocker/hands guy. I personally like Lee the best he also was 8th in the NFl last year in passes caught/ times thrown to. That's out of all WR/RBs also. Besides that I think Shianco is better than Olsen also

I'm gonna treat this as a 4-3 defense

QB- Packers, Bears, Lions, Vikings

RB- Vikings, Lions, Bears, Packers (I think GB has better depth than the Bears but Grant was pretty bad last year so I'll just leave it as is until he improves.)

FB- Packers, Vikings, Bears, Lions (TBH I know little about this position on the other teams)

WR- Packers, Lions, Vikings, Bears

TE- Packers, Vikings, Bears, Lions

OT- Vikings, Packers, Bears, Lions

OG- Vikings, Packers, Bears, Lions

OC- Packers, Bears, Lions, Vikings

DT- Vikings, Bears, Packers, Lions

DE- Packers, Vikings, Bears, Lions

OLB- Lions, Bears, Vikings, Packers

MLB/ILB- Bears, Packers, Vikings, Lions

CB- Packers, Vikings, Bears, Lions

S- Packers, Vikings, Lions, Bears

K- Lions, Bears, Vikings, Packers

P- Vikings, Bears, Lions, Packers

QB and Defensive Line have the greatest importance in the division IMO

some great posts so far but one part i would disagree on are the lbers. I would ranked the lions #1 with Simms, Petersen, and Foote but thats just me. The lions have done so much to help their team this year i don't know who they all have. They just added an o-lineman in Jansen so their line could be good also.

I forgot about Peterson. That could be quite the linebacking corps. Linebackers were one of the hardest for me to rank given the movement of the Packers to a 3-4 and the acquisitions made by the Lions and Bears. The Lions line though was so shit last year I'd have a hard time seeing one player making it decent.

With all due respect, anyone who ranks the Vikings' quarterback situation, even (or particularly) with Favre at the helm, above that of the Packers and Bears is borderline delusional, in my opinion. :P

Given that the ranking to which I'm referring may be a typo (based on said poster's opinions expressed in another thread), I won't call anyone out. :magnifyglass:

Only one was me unless I missed one, lol. I've been intentionally harsh on the Packers in several cases. The two largest of which are I haven't really given us credit for Kampman's potential in our new defense and I'm trying to keep my ranking of Rodgers in check. In my opinion, last year Rodgers played the best out of any quarterback currently or potentially in the not to distant future in the NFC North. I expect him to continue to develop into one of the top quarterbacks of the NFL but for ranking purposes now I'm very much keeping in mind that he's only had one year of starting experience. On a side note, I'm also confident in Kampman adjusting nicely to the 3-4.

QB- Packers, Bears, Lions, Vikings

The Packers and Bears are very close. Honestly, I don't think you can separate the two right now. I'll take Project Stafford over Project Tarvaris right now. If Favre comes back, Vikings move to No. 3.

RB- Vikings, Bears, Packers, Lions

Vikings easily No. 1. Bears and Packers closer than people think, but Forte is a more complete back than Grant so he gets the slight nod. Kevin Smith and the Lions a distant fourth.

WR- Packers, Lions, Vikings, Bears

Packers easily No. 1 in the division at receiver. Calvin Johnson alone makes the Lions No. 2. Vikings and Bears have some of the worst receiving cores in football.

TE- Bears, Packers, Lions, Vikings

I think Greg Olsen is the best TE in the division. I also like Desmond Clark some. Green Bay isn't bad with Donald Lee. Detroit has Pettigrew to takeover this year and we'll see how that goes. Minnesota finishes last, but not far off.

OT- Vikings, Packers, Bears, Lions

Packers drop to No. 2 this year with the loss of Mark Tauscher. Minnesota not much better than Green Bay and Chicago. All three have problems at RT and aging LT's. Detroit not sitting well at tackle in my view.

OG- Vikings, Packers, Bears, Lions

Vikings easily the top one here lead by Steve Hutchinson. The rest are pretty weak. GB slight edge over Chicago and Detroit.

OC - Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings

I still like Krutz more than anyone else's. Raola is next. I'll take Spitz or Wells over Sullivan in Minnesota. He has big shoes to replace.

DT- Vikings, Bears, Packers, Lions

Hard to compare everyone now that GB is moving to the 3-4. Clearly, Minnesota is No. 1. Chicago is No. 2, but they're interior line has regressed. Green Bay has a lot of potential, but No. 3 until we see what Raji can do. Detroit is last again.

DE - Vikings, Packers, Bears, Lions

Vikings lead by Jared Allen are No. 1 again. Green Bay is No. 2 with a lot of interesting options. Chicago has an overrated trio that are on decline. Detroit has pretty much nothing. Cliff Avril is a nice building block at least.

OLB- Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings

Bears take the top spot because Briggs is one of the best in the game. Detroit adding Julian Peterson puts them at No. 2. Green Bay is No. 3 with Kampman leading the way. Minnesota is last, but they got a good tandem in Greenway and Leber. This might be the strongest position in the division.

MLB/ILB- Vikings, Bears, Packers, Lions

E.J. Henderson has surpassed Brian Urlacher in my view. Green Bay is sitting with two projects in Barnett and Hawk in the 3-4. Foote is a stop gap player in Detroit.

CB - Packers, Vikings, Bears, Lions

Packers are clearly No. 1. I think GB has the best tandem in football actually. Minnesota is next with the Pro Bowl Antonie Winfield and respectable Cedric Griffin. Chicago has issues at corner and Detroit has a lot of issues at corner.

S- Packers, Vikings, Bears, Lions

I like GB because Nick Collins is a playmaker. Bigby isn't great, but we'll see what he brings this year. Williams isn't living up to his contract in Minnesota. I do think Tyrell Johnson is going to be a nice player though. Chicago has issues. I expect Daniel Manning to play safety and do it well. I liked the Louis Delmas pick in Detroit.

K- Lions, Vikings, Bears, Packers

Jason Hansen is the best. He's a Pro Bowl kicker in my view. Just overlooked because he played for Detroit all these years. Longwell is pretty clutch himself. Gould isn't bad. Crosby should get better.Good set of kickers.

P- Vikings, Bears, Lions, Packers

Can't say I'm a punter expert within the division. I'll say that Minnesota is the best with Kluwe. Maynard isn't bad in Chicago. Detroit's Nick Harris has been decent. Green Bay's punting situation has been a mess since Josh Bidwell left.

Yeah, I agree with most of what you wrote. Pretty obvious, as our lists look a lot alike. It's just that you don't have any ties at all.

One thing I'm wondering about though, how can you rate the ILBs and OLBs if they play in a different system? I wonder how you rated Kampman, who I rated as a DE, as an OLB if you compare him to a player like Briggs or Greenway?

And I wonder why everyone thinks that Kevin Smith is such a bad runner. If you look at the rest of their offense, he had quite the season. He might not've rushed for a 1000 yards, but he has a better average than Grant and he rusher for just 300 yards less behind an O-line that as leak as a basket and virtually no passing game for most of the season.
