[quote="PackFanWithTwins"]Bigby is made of glass. He has been out for ankle, knee, shoulder, Hammy

We would have been just as well of keeping Rouse.

He has missed less games since taking over at safety three years ago than Troy Polamalu, Mike Brown, and Bob Sanders. Hard hitting safeties get hurt sometimes. Ask Ed Reed.[/quote

If Bigby injuries were more contact related that may matter, but the shoulder is the only one that is. His problem now and for most of last year that kept him in the injury report and missing time was the ankle, that he hurt 2 years ago. He can't get past it. And that hurts the team.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

How long does it take for an ankle to heal up anyway? A sprain should be a month or so, a break 6-8 weeks. He's had all offseason to rest it. Sure, he's probably working out but there are things you can do without stressing the ankle.

There's our explanation for why Bigby sat out the OTA's and minicamps. I'm not sure what you mean when you say that Bigby may be "trying to send them a message." A bad ankle is a bad ankle. It's not a message.

And who is this "them"? The NSA? KGB? Ooh, I know! Is it the Illuminati? Sneaky Masonic bastards.

Maybe I've said too much already. I better put on my aluminum-foil lined Packer hat and escape from the Matrix for a while. This rabbit hole goes too deep for me. :shaking2:

Ankle injuries are weird. They never seem to quite go away. I know my ankle will seem fine for weeks, sometimes months on end, then the pain will recur and linger for a long time. And usually it will come at the worst times, too, like just before I'm going to attempt a personal record in the weight room or I'm about to go on a hiking trip. I don't know what the exact nature of Bigby's injury is, but maybe he's like me and has some odd fragment in his ankle that occasionally gets lodged in the wrong place.

Either way, it's all about availability. Sooner or later he needs to man up or find another mode of employment.

Yeah, I fucked up my ankle when I was about 14, and it still bothers me sometimes now almost 20 years later. Not sure what I did to it, but I assume it was kinda the ankle equivalent of an ACL tear, because it can roll too far to the outside if I'm not careful.

As for people who scoff at players who take themselves out for ankle injuries, those things can be debilitating. When I landed on my ankle badly at airborne school, I blacked out. That was back in 2003. It still rolls at odd moments, causing me to gasp in pain and not be able to put weight on it.

I've rolled my right ankle at least 15 times to varying degrees of severity. The worst being when I rolled the same ankle twice consecutively whilst falling down a set of stairs. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. I never went to see a physio for it, so I'm pretty sure it's permanently buggered. Still makes a cracking sound when I rotate it around. Strangely though I don't get any pain from it unless I roll it again, which is quite likely to happen.

I thought Starks healed up and was healthy again? I guess I was wrong...

Also I think this very well could give a edge to Burnett to start if Bigby isn't able to become healthy soon ...

This probably isn't a good thing, but reading about Starks for some reason reminded me of LeShon Johnson.

I used to sprain my ankles regularly and ended up having reconstruction on both of them. One is fine, with a little loss in range of motion, and the other I destroyed again. There is nothing left on the outside of it and it will roll if I step on a shadow. I have to wear shoes with some ankle support. If I play any sports I have to put a brace on or risk dislocation. The good thing is it pops back in right away and I am fine in an hour or so. The bad news is I go into shock and can die. Hurts like a mother too.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.
