The NFC again doesn't change much. The AFC is all over the place, two weeks ago the Bills were #2 seed.

This week you want to be cheering for the Cardinals against the 49'ers, Panthers against the Lions, Eagles against the Giants, Chargers against the Bears, and Redskins against the Cowboys.

If the 49'ers lose the odds of the Packers gaining the #1 seed goes up by 18%. See probability website

Conversely, if the Packers lose to the Buccaneers, their chances of securing the No. 1 seed drop by an astonishing 22%.

An indication of how tight the NFC is this year: even if the Packers get to 10-0, they won't have clinched so much as a wildcard berth.

At this point, the Packers still have to win out (go 16-0) to guarantee the top seed. They need to win 4 of 7 games to secure anything between No. 2 and No. 5. They need to win 3 of 7 to secure the No. 6 seed.

On the other hand, there is still a mathematical chance that the Packers could lose every one of their remaining games and still clinch the No. 1 seed. [grin1]
