I don't know if any of you remember how i was telling everyone how I had tried on Ray Nitschke's Super Bowl one ring back in 1991, and a SB 31 ring at Fan Fest a couple years ago. My "quest" was to get to try on all 3 before i die. Well, yesterday, the quest was not only met, but surpassed!
I and my wife went to the sports show at state fair park. Dave Robinson and Ron Kramer were there signing copies of their books. Kramer's "That's just Kramer" and Robinson's new one, "The Lombardi Legacy". Lauriejean bought me the book when we were at Lambeau Field last week. It's all stories by people that actually knew Lombardi. It's a GREAT book!
Anyway......when we started talking to the guys, Robinson took off his SB one ring for my wife to try on. He invited us behind the table, and i told him my story. He said "My SB two ring is stuck on my finger. I don't think i can get it off". I told him it's ok.....next thing i know, he's got a bottle of water, and is pouring it on his hand and twisting the ring! He hands it to me......i about died! Then Ron Kramer (who played for the Packers through 1964, on the 1961-62 champ teams) hands me his 1961 NFL championship ring! We sat and talked with them for almost an hour! The stories were something! Also, Royce Boyles who co-authored the book, was there and REALLY nice too! And Vince Lombardi's secretary was there too, with her bracelet that he gave to her, with a gold Packer football for each championship. 5 total on it. (A picture of it is in the book)
Kramer tells me "We didn't get a ring for the 62 title.....Lombardi got us a crummy watch, that never DID work!"
My wife worked with Lionel Aldridge in the 1980's at a Datsun dealership on Silver Spring road. She mentioned that, and Dave lit up, saying "He was my roommate!" They ended up swapping some stories. She ended up getting Robinson's email address! LOL! Way to go, honey!!!
So it was QUITE a day for me.
I had a throw away camera with me, and we got some pics. Hopefully they will turn out. When i get a computer back at home, i will post them!

Congratulations, Alan. You've experienced something I will probably never get to do. But I imagine you have a lot of experiences I'll never encounter. It's part of what makes us unique. 🙂

OH!!! I almost forgot! I and my wife were leaving....so of course i HAD to pee before i left for the long drive home. I walk into the men's room, 3 urinals.......there is Robinson at one, Kramer to his right. I'm to Robinson's left, and i say "We have to quit meeting like this!" And Robinson says "ALAN!!!" and starts laughing! He finished, went to wash his hands. Kramer turns to me and says "I've had to pee for over an hour!......and I'm STILL going!!!" I say back "Well, i drank ONE soda, and have pissed out 5!"
As we all left the men's room (they went out the other door, as they were going back into the exhibition hall) i say to the guy next to me, who was probably about 30 "Now you can go home and tells your friends you got to PEE with Green Bay Packer greats!" He looked at me, with a questioning look, and I said "That was Dave Robinson and Ron Kramer." He said "Why didn't you tell me that while we were still in there!?!?" His friends showed up, and i showed them my book with Dave's pic and they guy said "That was HIM!!!" It was HILARIOUS! I showed him all my autographs in the book, and told them where to find them in the hall.
All around a great time!

Zombie.....I have learned by expierience to TRY to be prepared. I knew they were selling the book there, but had NO idea if any Packers would be there. Bob Long was supposed to be there too, but he was real sick.

Rock...i understand what you mean. Some of the things that have happened to me, i never would have imagined would EVER be possible. If you told me 20 years ago all these things would happen, i'd have thought you were nuts!
In 1991 when i met Ray Nitschke, i didn't bring a camera with me, and have kicked myself for it ever since!
So i try to be ready just in case something like yesterday happens!

Zero2Cool (18m) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (9h) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (19h) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (19h) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (20h) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (20h) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (21h) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Update: Rock has tried a cheese curd, promises it's not his last
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : watch it!! lol
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : you're right, we never did leave, the site just went down :P
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Rock claims to have never eaten a cheese curd

Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Family Night! WE ARE SO BACK!
Mucky Tundra (2-Aug) : To this day, I'm still miffed about his 4 TD game against Dallas on Thanksgiving going to waste
Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request
beast (1-Aug) : Packers should make some cheese forks
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : GRAB THE PITCHFORKS~
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : CUT HIM
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : Socieltal collapse imminent
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : The West has fallen
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : After starting off camp with 25 straight made field goals, Brandon McManus has missed one
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : But it should be stable
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : It's probably gonna be slower.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : We're gonna just full go on to the new host.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : What crap. Site issues galore
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : if PH dies, there is packerpeople com available
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : database is on new host, eventually website will follow
Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂
