Bout damn time... if the US president can order a legal hit.. I should be able to use force to protect my kingdom.

http://www.wausaudailyherald.com/article/20100412/WDH0101/100412047/1981

A bill slowly making its way through the state Legislature would make it legal for Wisconsin residents to use deadly force if necessary to protect their homes.

Under current law, someone could break into a home, and if the intruder was injured in the act, the perpetrator could sue the homeowner, said Rep. Amy Sue Vruwink, D-Milladore.

At a Marshfield listening session this week, one of Vruwinks constituents said he had grave concerns about the way the legislation is written and the potential for abuse.

A bill to allow what is commonly called a Castle Doctrine has been introduced a number of times but failed to become law.

This time, the bill was crafted by a bipartisan committee which included a former judge, Vruwink said.

They went through it very closely, she said.

Basically, the bill changes Wisconsin law so that when confronted with a person breaking into ones home, a person has no duty to retreat in their home. If this were to happen on the street, you would have the duty to retreat, Vruwink said.

Marshfield Police Chief Gary Jepson said he agrees with the concept that a home is a persons castle, but deadly force might not be necessary to protect it.

There are so many what ifs with this, Jepson said. What if someone breaks into your home and you fear for the safety of your children and use a hammer to incapacitate the person and now they are unconscious. You cant use a hammer and beat them until they are lifeless. ... Or someone had too much to drink, drives to what he thinks is his house but the door wont open so he breaks in. If a person really thought it was a serious danger, then they have a right to protect themselves.

It's about time. Wish there were 49 other bills and they all passed.

Law or no law, someone breaks into my house, they get a blast of bird shot in the chest from 10 feet away. I'll deal with the law later. First priority is defending my family.

In Montana, if someone breaks into your home or is on your property while committing a crime, you have the right to defend your property and self. So.................out here we make sure our "victims" fall on our property. And if they don't, we drag them onto it.

And, if the victim happens to be a nice elk or moose, we share with the neighbors.

lol Bob.

Anyway, I agree.. You better believe someone's getting hurt if they are trying to break in, law or no law.

Years ago, some punks broke into my camp and stole all my fishing gear, sleeping bags, TV and booze.
Two State Troopers came out to investigate and I told them that I'm always carrying and if i catch some violators inside my camp I will drop em.
They told me they didn't want to hear it officially, but then they told me what to do to cover my ass should such an incident take place.
One of them still stops in to visit me from time to time.

I misread this at first. I thought the subject line said "Mr. Bill."

:)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
