A lot on my plate today...

Tory Harrison from Mississippi is a tryout Running Back.

I'll post what I find when I get an opportunity.

Quinn Porter RB Stillman College 5'11 in some accounts, 6'0" in others.

I have watched two of the three vids on youtube (agent put 'em?)

This kid is beyond intriguing. Some quick notes I have...(accuracy not verified yet)

1247 yards rushing 6.8 yards per rush average. 10 kickoff returns last year. Don't hold me to those stats just yet--I cannot remember where I got 'em...

AVERAGED 39.8 yards per return. 2 of them were for touchdowns.

Videos show him as a wide receiver also---SMOKING the db's....

Videos show him PUNTING... Including what look like some real nice punts AND (I seem to recall) a couple where he "pinned it down there."

I'll post the vids when I get a chance if no one else does.

He dovetails nicely with a theory I heard on ESPN radio last night en-route to vet's office about front offices missing people more than ever in the draft because of the NCAA rules on scholarships having restricted the ability of the big schools to scarf all of the talent...

Definitely a discussion/research worthy prospect.

Hell, I'll probably find out he's a QB and CB if I get the chance to watch the 3rd video, lol

Quinn Porter Interview

Running Back Stillman

By: Alex Khvatov

1/26/10

Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Quinn Porter: My height is 511, weight is 205 and I ran a low 4.5.

Alex Khvatov: How did you get into football in the first place?

Quinn Porter: Back in 1994, we moved to Lancaster, California from Los Angeles. I saw a football application and I told my mom that I wanted to play flag football. I have been playing football ever since.

Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Quinn Porter: Hawaii, Humboldt State and a lot of the Cal State schools. I wanted to go to USC. They came and watched me practice. Unfortunately my academic career didnt match my athletic career.

Alex Khvatov: How did you end up at Stillman?

Quinn Porter: I actually was recruited by Stillman at the end of the summer. My mentor at Lancaster, California helped me with that. It was a big change for me going to the South. They never offered me coming of high school. I didnt get a scholarship. I was an academic qualifier. I was a walk-on. They offered me a scholarship my second year.

Alex Khvatov: Describe your senior season to us.

Quinn Porter: It was a little overwhelming. I actually wasnt going to come back for my senior year. I was going to join UNGL development league. It is a developmental league for the NFL. I was drafted by the Georgia Stallions, one of the teams in that league. The league didnt start up. We had a new coach coming in at Stillman. I was mad that he didnt give me a call. I was the leading player coming back. I was going to cut my college short and go to the NFL. Then he called me and told me to get out of that league. He told me that he can get me the right publicity, so I could get to the NFL. I came back. I was a part-time student in the spring of 2009. Then I came back for my last collegiate semester in the fall. It turned out great. I was a First-Team All-Conference. I was an honorable mention All-American. I gained over 1,200 yards on the ground and scored 11 TDs. I had a brilliant season. My head coach calling me was a blessing after all.

Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your football career up to this point?

Quinn Porter: My first year, they had me at WR. I didnt even dress through my first four games. My coach told me that I wasnt consistent enough catching the ball. I went to my coach and asked him to give me a chance at RB. My coach called me during practice, and I scored on my first play against our starting defense. I have been starting at RB ever since then. I also remember scoring four TDs in the homecoming game. My whole freshman year was memorable.

Alex Khvatov: Tell me about your HBCU Bowl experience.

Quinn Porter: It was exciting. I came in there not knowing what to expect. It was my first collegiate level bowl game. I was happy to be a part of it. A lot of the prospects didnt run their forties. I took advantage of the scouts that were there, and I ran my forty. I had a chance to start that game. I did good. I did my part. It was all about practice. I gave it 150%. It was fun.

Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths on the football field?

Quinn Porter: My vision, quickness, football knowledge and instincts. I make every inch count. Every time I get the ball, I want to score. I am non-stop.

Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game do you still need to improve upon?

Quinn Porter: I cant say anything bad about myself. I am a student of the game, but I want to learn more. I need to do a better job reading defenses. A little more knowledge would help in that area.

Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?

Quinn Porter: The Cowboys. They are Americas team.

Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?

Quinn Porter: Adrian Peterson, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. I like guys that lead their teams. I am also a team player and a leader.

Alex Khvatov: Tell me about your teammate DE Junior Gallette.

Quinn Porter: He is a beast. He is a hard worker. He is me on defense. He is a baller. He is a leader. He shows real emotion and spirit. I would die for him. He is my friend. He is like a brother to me.

Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about playing football?

Quinn Porter: It is a rush. I like to get the ball in my hands with all eyes looking at me. Once your number is called, you have to take full advantage of it.

Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?

Quinn Porter: I hang out with friends and girls. I am single right now. I am just chilling. I play basketball. I have a younger player who will be coming out this year. He is a QB. I am being a role model to my brother. He can swing that thing. His name is Cash Oliver. He has the arm that is out of this world. I would compare his arm to Brett Favre.

Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Quinn Porter: I want to start an acupuncture business. My major is kinesiology. I am all about the human body. I want to be able to rehabilitate people. The whole Haiti disaster touched me. I know that I want to help people. I want to give back. You have to give back in order to receive.

Alex Khvatov: Is the NFL a dream or a reality at this point?

Quinn Porter: It is both. It is something that I plan to do for the next 12-15 years. I am still waiting to get there. I am patient. I am doing my part, and my agent is doing his.

Alex Khvatov: How are you preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft?

Quinn Porter: I will be training in Atlanta. I will be there next month. I am working on my skills. I am in the weight room right now working on getting stronger. I am working on my speed. I am perfecting my craft.

Alex Khvatov: Finish the sentence, Quinn Porter is....

Quinn Porter: A hard worker on the field and a role model off-the-field. He leads by example. He is all about full throttle. He is ready.

lol ya!

thanks for posting this defoster - btw the kid sounds cool. Id love to see him do a fake punt and run the ball instead for a 1st down (give opposing teams headaches in wondering what he will do).

Imagine the formations you could create with Porter. Put him and our official punter on the field at the same time -- lined up parallel -- and opposing defenses have no idea where the ball is getting snapped. Hell, give the long snapper some discretion in making the decision based on the alignment of the defense. If it's snapped to our punter, we punt -- or we shovel pass it to Porter and he either punts or runs with it. Or we snap it to Porter and he either punts or fakes or even possibly snaps it to our real punter.

The possibilities are endless.

It is a little difficult to tell how far he is punting in the vids, but they looked like good ones to me, including his one or two "coffin corner" punts.

I'm just tellin' ya, I think the kid can REALLY punt.

I'm not saying that he should replace our punter, but it would be incredibly funny and awesome to give Mike the option of being able to instantly shit-can our next punter in the middle of the game if he fucks up.

Everybody got on that wildcat stuff...We can frogleap that and go to wildcat punting.

We can call it the tiger offense. It's bigger, stronger, faster, and more deadly than a wildcat. It'll run you down or kick the crap out of you!

Zero2Cool (1h) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (10h) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (10h) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (10h) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (10h) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (11h) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (11h) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Update: Rock has tried a cheese curd, promises it's not his last
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : watch it!! lol
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : you're right, we never did leave, the site just went down :P
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Rock claims to have never eaten a cheese curd
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : We did not leave.
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Family Night! WE ARE SO BACK!
Mucky Tundra (2-Aug) : To this day, I'm still miffed about his 4 TD game against Dallas on Thanksgiving going to waste
Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request
beast (1-Aug) : Packers should make some cheese forks
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : GRAB THE PITCHFORKS~
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : CUT HIM
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : Socieltal collapse imminent
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : The West has fallen
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : After starting off camp with 25 straight made field goals, Brandon McManus has missed one
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : But it should be stable
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : It's probably gonna be slower.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : We're gonna just full go on to the new host.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : What crap. Site issues galore
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : if PH dies, there is packerpeople com available
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : database is on new host, eventually website will follow
Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂
Zero2Cool (29-Jul) : Sure seems site going down more than 50¢ hooker
