Granted it is a division team.. but sounds like there are few untouchables on the roster.. any strike an interest..

I am think DE White.. Jared DeVries could help us out...

Sounds like Roy Williams and Kitna will be dealt to Dallas for Flozell Adams and a 1st..

So maybe we should explore some line help, eh.

i don't think it's ted's style to make mid-season trades. the way MM talks, they value continuity above pretty much everything, so i don't think mixing up the roster mid-season is a very attractive option to them. but yeah, our O and D lines have made me lose sleep this season.

Yeah.. I agree it isn't Ted's style.. but it would certainly be a shot in the arm along the Dline.. gap control isn't overly difficult to teach.. it is not like our Dline drops into coverage or has alot of stunt packages.. we are pretty straight up along the line.. beat the man in front of you.

The trading deadline for this season is sometime tomorrow (Tuesday). If they haven't been working on a deal before now I don't think their going to get a deal. Also they wouldn't trade to the Packers unless the Packers over pay, which Thompson is going to do.

Come on... don't be logical... we haven't had a "I want one of these guys" thread in a while filled with hopes and wild dreams.. ;)

Seriously though.. per Mlive.com they are opening up the roster save a few untouchables.. I don't think they would reject anyone.. especially if they are desperate to unload contracts.. the is why White may make sense..

But you are right.. more of a dreamer thread.

I don't know anything about Jared DeVries in particular, but I will say that when the Packers played the Lions, I was impressed by their DE's. I pretty much chalked it up to the decline of Clifton and Tauscher, but those DE's did show me something. As I've been saying ever since Cullen Jenkins went down, the Packers need a true DE to replace him, rather than just a bunch of lightweight pass rushing specialists (who aren't very good at rushing the passer anyway).

So yeah, I'd like for Ted to maybe got out and get a DE, although I think the chances of him doing so are very small.

Fine ok, being complete illogical....

I want Cory Redding... he would be prefect for replace Jenkins role...!!! :whipitgood:

He's a pass rushing DT, that could stop the run at DE and can be a pass rush guy at DE.

Ok back to logical. The Lions wouldn't do it, Redding is just plain lazy at times, but a huge play maker at others. And I think Redding was given a huge contract by the Lions not to long ago.

I'd love to get CB Leigh Bodden. I think the dude can play, and with Al and C-Wood to teach him jamming at the LOS, I think he could become an effective CB in our system.

That's really unlikely to happen though.

A DE / DT would be nice, but really I doubt Ted would do it. Maybe a conditional 4th or 3rd depending on what the compensation from the Jets is, but I doubt Ted is eager to trade any pick that high.

I'm sure the staff will be watching the wavier wire though, in case Detroit decides to cut some of the higher paid players on the D-Line.

My goodness, what a mess that team is.
