Yes, we ARE biased. That said....FINLEY!
He's at the beginning, and IF he matures (he's SAYING the right things right now) he may be one of the all time best. He has talent....BIG time.
He just needs to grow up and to keep striving to improve in ALL aspects of the game.
If he doesn't sit back and coast, he can have a HOF career.
(My humble opinion, of course....for what it's worth)

If I'm building a franchise I take Davis or Finley. If I'm going for a one-year all-star team I'm taking Gates or Clark.

I voted Davis though.

I looked at the poll.

It was a straight fist fight between Davis and Finley.

Finley won.

Green and gold goggles were involved, HOWEVER -

Am I wrong in saying that even though Davis had a monster season, his cause was greatly aided by the fact that he is the focal target in the 49'ers passing attack?

Crabdouche came in late, Morgan/Battle/Bruce were OK, so that leaves...Davis.

The Packers had more depth and dimension to their offense last season, two 1k recievers and 1.2k rusher is testament to that. Despite all of that, Finley won plaudits as the best EMERGING tight end in the game.

I haven't taken all round play (blocking) into full consideration, because these hybrid fuckers like Davis and Finley are so damn awesome in terms of a recieving option, I can't justify putting in an all round tight end.

If this was a couple years back? Gonzalez, no question.

I voted Vernon Davis. But of course I would take Finley.

I haven't seen enough of Davis to make the call. Does he have equal or better ability to out jump any defender on him and come down with the ball practically 100% of the time?

I chose Finley because he is ours, he's young, and even if he never becomes the best, he will be one of the best. There are other positons on the team that I would like to see improved to Finley's level.
