Something that is quite underappreciated in this game, is the fact that we had a combined 2 penalties for 15 yards.

Rejoice! I hope we keep that up.

indeed. that was a very, very impressive part of a very, very unimpressive win.

Don't forget the special teams. Our punting was pretty pedestrian but Crosby was awesome overall (I'll forgive the kickoff blunder for the 56 yard FG), our coverage teams were awesome, and Jordy had a couple of nice returns.

It is kinda funny that we see it as a bad game if our defense lets one of, if not the most mobile quarterbacks in the league, ever possibly, run around on us. Or if our quarterback has a subpar game. Thanks for bringing up the fact that the ST did an exceptional job, as well as our team only having 2 penalties, which is AMAZING compared to early last year. Its nice to have a little bit of good in there because I wasn't real happy with the game last night, or this morning for that matter.

Did the Packers have a gutty win like this last season? I think they would have lost this game last year. Nelson surprised, and Chuck was outstanding, but Matthews had all of the key plays. Following his sack on Vick with the stop on 4th down was the difference between a W and OT.

Very good point, would agree with that. For that matter, don't think we would have made the gutsy stop at goal last year either.

Now for the game, sure it wasn' pretty.. it wasn't dominating in the end like many hyped this to be.

But it was a win in which the Packers absorbed a 'special' effort by an opposing player and in the end, stopped him short on an all marbles in play late in the game.

These are the types of games that prepare a team for their run at a championship.. not all games go according to plan.. but in the end it matters with only a single letter.. a "W" or an "L".

Also.. I feel for Harrell.. things finally start to turn for the youngster and wham..

Harrell seems cursed, I feel for him as well.

Clay left it all on the field, there was a shot of him gasping for air in the 4th quarter. Teds 2nd best draft pick.

Woodson had the flu and a bad toe but still managed to play very well.

Can't wait for next Sunday! I think they'll perform much better and we should be looking at 2-0.

The way I look at it is we won a road game in a tough place to play and scored 27 points against a good defense without Rodgers playing very well.
IMO one of the reasons this got close resulted from a depleted DL that I thought did an excellent job short-handed.

Vick is a one of a kind QB and we won't face many like him again especially in the division with Favre, Cutler, and, Stafford. This was a perfect setup for him with Rodgers not clicking and the defense being on the field for most of the 4th quarter.

Good teams find ways to win when they aren't playing very well. I think if Rodgers plays like this last year we lose this game. It's not all bad when a great QB gets a wake-up call but still one in the win column.

He was forcing it to Finley too much. We have too many weapons to just focus on one guy all the time. That's why I don't really like Rodgers' quick releases, he bascially chooses the guy to throw to before the snap, and doesn't make any reads (though I realize this is necessary with our terrible offensive line).

I only saw the first half, but I noticed this, as well. Throwing it to Finley in triple coverage while you have the other weapons you have running around there is unacceptable.

And while I've been saying that Matthews was overrated last year, he really showed some stuff yesterday. If I had Game Pass, my video might just become 12+ plays longer.
