is it thanksgiving yet?? damn you guys are making me hungry! my favorite thanksgiving side has to be my mom's mashed potatoes. she mixes in cream cheese, sour cream, onion powder, salt, pepper, & butter. they are seriously to die for!! my mom was a home ec teacher - she's an awesome cook. nobody can beat her gravy, homemade (from scratch)waffles that are light as a feather, or her lasagna. she's italian, after all.

the hubby is an amazing cook as well. his specialty is chicken marsala. he also makes an AWESOME iron skillet pineapple upside down cake.

When people from Turkey eat turkey, is that cannibalism?

"zombieslayer" wrote:

Nope. People from Turkey call themselves "Turkoman," not turkeys. :P

Besides, the official name for the country is Trkiye Cumhuriyeti anyway.

Arn't they "Turduckens?"
Isn't that what John Madden called them???LOL!
Anyway......i don't care much for turkey. It always seems so dry. I prefer one of those little 2 pound turkey loafs you bake. It's a mix of white and dark meat, no bones to mess with, and just enough for me and the wife with leftovers for a couple turkey sandwiches.
But i still like making tenderloin the most. Cut it so it's about 2 inches thick. Get some "liquid smoke". I use Colgin natural hickory. Put the cut up pieces in a ziplock bag, pour some liquid smoke in, rub it around all the pieces of tenderloin. Put it in the refrigerator for a few hours or over night. Take it out and let it sit in the bag to warm up a bit. Then heat a frying pan so that when you drop the steaks in they "sizzle". Cover, let them cook a few minutes, turn them over, let them cook till pink in the middle.
Taste's just like the were made on the grill, with no charcoal mess! Especially nice in the winter, when you are longing for a grilled steak.

Saw this story on ProFootballTalk and just had to bump this thread.

Payback time: Dez Bryant's $54,896 dinner

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 28, 2010 3:17 PM ET
It's been a great week for Dallas receiver Roy Williams.

He had his best statistical day as a member of the Cowboys on Sunday, then he got revenge on rookie wideout Dez Bryant for that whole pads-carrying training camp incident.

At the time, Williams said it was no big deal if Bryant just took the team out to dinner. So Bryant ultimately offered to bring the offense to Pappas Bros. Steakhouse on Monday night, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com.

Williams decided to invite the defense as well. With all the extra mouths to feed and some take home bottles of wine, the bill came to $54,896.

"They got the young fella," Bryant's adviser David Wells said. "What could he say? He had to pay it unless he wanted to wash dishes for a month."

Wells clearly hasn't washed dishes before. At minimum wage salary in Texas and 40 hours a week, Bryant would be working until 2014 at least to pay that tab off.

Luckily for Bryant, he should be headed for his second NFL contract by then.

By my estimation, that's over $1000 a head, assuming all 53 on the roster counted as "offense" or "defense" some way. $2000+ if its just the starters.

That's an impressive display of self-indulgence. Assuming he tips like a typical rich man, that means the tip came to approximately $5500. If tips more like I do, the tip could have been upwards of $14,000!

I want to wash dishes at THAT place!!!

I'll split the job with you, Alan. You work 2 weeks, I'll work two weeks, and we'll each take 2+ weeks off every month. 🙂

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin

beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
