Nick Barnett does his sword.
Donald Driver does his first down shimmer.
JerMichael Finley does his running while pointing.
Aaron Rodgers does his belt.

There's many more, add to it if you wish. Are these excessive or merited? Also, do we condone Driver's because we love him and blast Nick's because we feel he underperforms?

I don't mind any of them, or find them too excessive. I like Barnett, but my only gripe is that the samurai comes out after some fairly routine plays, and on several occassions when loosing by more than a little....not much to celebrate at that moment, IMHO.

Driver said he actually got that wiggle from Darren Sharper which I don't know many people know or remember. I also notice Rodgers skip, jump in the air with his fist. It almost looks like a super Mario jump if any1 knows what I'm talking about lol. Clay Matthews has his squat and spreads his arms like in peteralan71 pic.

I do think there is a double standard when it comes to what we see as excessive and that which we love.

I have always said that one of the first things that tells me "This is Packer football" and gives me goosebumps is a Donald Driver shimmy. Even if we are losing, it gives me a lift and let's me know we will fight - I would assume it has a rallying effect on alot of other people too.

Nick Barnett's Samurai celebration I don't mind, but it has irked me when it has been done at, what I see, as inappropriate times - such as after getting pwned for three quarters. But of course, I have no qualms about saying there is a double standard.

Driver is also the most consistent offensive player.

Barnett can be a great player but needs to be consistent all the time, in areas that statistics don't really tell.

It is when not what they do.. that is all that has ever irked me.. Barnett just seems to have piss poor timing.

I won't blame Barnett for celebrating. He plays with a ton of fire. The guy must be devastated right now. I'm not surprised he is getting a second opinion to see if he can play with a bad wrist all season.

Honestly, I just don't care. Nothing I say will change what these guys do, and bitching about it accomplishes absolutely zero. They wanna dance around like electrified chickens or emulate alien creatures from 80's movies, I say that's their business.

The thing on Barnett for me is no different than anyone else. They are all expected to make routine plays. Is a 7 yard slant for a frist down by Driver that out of the ordinary that it merits the wiggle every time? I consider the 7 yard slant for a first down a routine play just like the routine plays that Barnett celebrates on. The one that irritates me the most is Rodgers. In my view that Championship belt thing is very sophmorish. I think it makes him look dumb when he does it in the first half of a game when we score 21 points, then he goes and screws the pooch the rest of the game. Championship belt has much more implied meaning than any of the other celebrations. It should only be used when the belt is deserved to be worn. And that is only after a TD to win the Super Bowl.
