I wish I had the time to put together a video compliation of Hawk losing yardage. I'm complaining because I witnessed it on 4 plays today.

PackFanWithTwins, has the best recommendation, I just need to expect AJ to be average. (And that's reason enough to leave him on the field year after year.) I will try to quit bitching about it, yet much like AJ, I'm probably not going to get any better either.

As for dickweed threads, I'm an equal opportunity pain in the ass, I post them all week long.

Hawk is not terrible.

I know why some people avoid the boards after a loss. Holy crazy drama vent city, lol.

Hawk played fine. On one play, he got driven back two yards by an RB after contact, but other than that, I didn't see any problems with how he played. There's plenty of blame to go around, so why drag Hawk into this?

If someone sees a player miss one play, they think he's terrible. Hawk missed one or two plays today. I recall one on a pass where the receiver made him look clueless. It was third down and the player got the first down.

With that said, Hawk didn't play bad today. If anything, he played well without Ryan Pickett in front of him. I did not find myself thinking Green Bay loss this game because of their ILBs.

Bishop was also much quieter this game. 1 Great pass defensed but outside of that he wasn't blowing anything up like last week.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

More often he's just getting dragged for yardage after the initial hit.

Agreed. He often has to clean up his own mess.

Being at the game yesterday I zeroed in on the play of Hawk and Bishop and I thought they both played pretty damn well.
It was the defensive line that didn't look so good. Outside of Jenkins I didn't see much effort out of that bunch.

I'll agree with yooper, it is definately an advantage to be able to observe the whole field, to be able to watch a play develope, to be able to see how the offense is attacking the defense.

It;s a real shame that some on this forum just don't understand the game of football and have no idea how valuable a player like AJ Hawk is.

The guy never misses a game, rarely does he blow an assignment, but because he doesn't run and jump around making a spectacle of himself when he does make a play, he has been branded as an under achiever.

I love the statement"hawk was being dragged down the field on tackles" all you have to do is look at the film, or read what yooper posted, in a 3-4 defense if the d-line does not take on the their blockers well and the running back gets a free shot to the 2nd level the linebackers are not going to stop them in their tracks, but some of you will never understand this and have AJ Hawk to be your scapegoat.

You all have your own opinionS, just know, a lot of time you make yourselves sound like complete idiots who have no clue what it takes for a defense to be successful....AS A TEAM!!!!

If Hawk wasn't a first round pick we wouldn't even be having this conversation now. Due to being a first round pick, everyone seems to think he needs to be the next Ray Lewis.

The guy is playing very solid and we should really be happy considering the other major issues this team has it should be the least we should be concerned about.

The bigger issue on defense was the defensive line play, not Hawk. I'm pretty sure Hawk had 12+ tackles yesterday (at least that is what the board at Lambeau said). He got in on the 3rd and 1 stop and the 4th and 1 "stop." Missing Pickett and Neal really hurt us because we basically had no defensive line cover. It looked like they were just able to wear our defensive line down.
