I finished reading the other posts nonstop. I can say we have married entirely different women so there is no reason to discuss this any more. You do what works for you and I do what works for me.

I have the final say in our house. I choose when to use it. I pay the bills. I give my wife an allowance.

This whole thing has gotten side tracked. You missed my point all together. I was not saying to run and hide and let your wife do whatever she wants every single time. I was saying that even when the husband is right she will have her feelings hurt and just to have harmony in the home the husband often times has to apologize even if he wasn't wrong. It is not kowtowing to her it is helping her to get beyond the moping stage.

I was thinking about this issue this morning. I like to get the steam out of the bathroom by letting the exhaust fan run with the door open. For some reason my wife thinks it will vent out quicker with the door closed. I got tired of trying to explain to her the increased square footage of air flow is greater coming through an open door than what seeps in from under the door. Long story short. I leave the door open. She leaves it shut. When I come along I open the door. When she comes along. She closes the door.

Sounds like a simple solution to me.

WPR - Who pays the utility bills, you, or me?

Mrs. WPR - You

WPR - OK, then we keep the door open and I'll deal with the consequences of the increased or decreased utility bill.

End of argument.

i think it's friggin hilarious that ANY of you actually believe you know what women want!! you can't generalize us, put us in a box, & say unequivocally THIS or THAT is what women want. we are complex as are men. each person has different needs & those needs can completely change throughout the course of the relationship.

me - i'm pretty much an 'in your face' kinda chick. i don't play games, i'm not coy, i'm not a mind reader, & when i ask you what's wrong, that's what i f'in mean. if i'm pissed, you're gonna know it & know exactly why.

first marriage, i had a verbally abusive asshole who got whatever he wanted by playing on my emotions. he didn't stand beside me EVER in ANY decision.

this marriage, we fight like cats & dogs at times but i know that whatever decision we make is together. he's told me lots of times that one of the things he finds most attractive in me is my ability to not take his shit for one second, not accept bullshit excuses, & to call him on his crap. he does the same for me. i've learned more about myself, my life, & my family in the last 3 years thanks to him. he shoves it right back in my face & i've learned so much from that. again, i do the same for him & it's amazing!!

And I've learned that most women don't know what they want either.

"4PackGirl" wrote:

Sure you can. You can generalize about anything. Of course, there will be exceptions.

From experience, I learned if I sit at home and play videogames, I won't meet women. If I go to a bar, I'll usually meet women I don't want my mother to meet. If I take a college course, that's where I'm most likely to meet quality women.

Feel free to generalize about men. I won't mind. And I'll probably laugh because you might be right.

we are complex as are men.

As complex? I'd say more complex. Men are simple. Women are all over the place.

Of course. People change. Not always for the better.

I was hoping we would hear from you 4PG. You always make a thread interesting.

I may not know what my wife wants all the time but I can pretty much guess what she wants more times than not.
