Moving the thread back to geezer land...

She's not hot looking like Alan Dawa Dolma, Foster, but she may have an even better voice...

And for you metal/rockheads....listen and learn about art...pfft.

Wade - Maybe a problem with rockers, but not with Metalheads. Metalheads generally have a good understanding of music. Myself I like the Romantic era of music from Beethoven to Dvorak's New World Symphony (referring to the time period, not the pieces themselves).

I've seen the best American pianist (Van Cliburn) but unfortunately missed Isaac Perlman's conducting debut when he was touring as a conductor. Of course, would have rather seen him as a violinist, as Perlman is one of those once in a lifetime musicians.

So, contrary to popular opinion, Metalheads are not meatheads. We know our shit.

In case you're wondering, Cliburn played Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto.

+1 for that. I enjoyed it very much.

I always love this song, and this rendition is very tough to beat. Vid quality is outstanding also.

Oh I know. Juat twitting you a bit. One thing I've realized since whoever it was that posted Ghost Love Score on another thread here (I think it was either you or Porforis}, I've come to realize just how diverse and sophisticated metal and metalheads are.

I am still unimpressed by "the black albim" group though. :)

Oh and the greatest American pianist was Glenn Gould, who alas is still dead yet. (oh, ok, best North American)

Best USA pianist -- I'd go with Fats Waller. 🙂

Rock...great post...+1. Not much for tats, but love the guys retro glasses. And voice is good, too.

By the way, what's the idea with the turning chairs thing for judges on this show?

You mean Metallica's Black Album? Was that considered Metal? I always thought Metallica became an alternative band in the 90s and I stopped listening to them.

I'll have to look up Fats Waller. Long story short on Van Cliburn. In the heart of the Cold War, Van Cliburn went to Russia and beat the Russians at their own Tchaikovsky festival, even with several of the judges cheating (intentionally lowering their scores because he was an American). He played Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto, which was the greatest piece ever written on the piano.

Until I heard Nightwish, I thought Metallica *defined* metal. Well, Metallica and Black Sabbath. Terrible, huh?
