That's exactly what I was getting at. This should be a very hot topic on this forum. I'm extremely impressed with those stats. Just pray that he can keep it up now. There's no doubt in my mind that he is capable of doing so. Look how great he was last year and he was sacked 50 times. He's capable. My best criterion for why he is capable is that he puts up great numbers even when he is playing with "scrubs".

I've said after the 2008 season that Rodgers would be a better QB moving forward than Mr. Regular Season. Really pisses me off Manning was All-Pro last year when Rodgers had a better year with the worst OL in the NFL for the first 8 games of the season and an average one after that.

This year, Manning's seeing injuries that we're used to and he's been sucking the past few games. Rodgers lost his starting RB the first game and his starting TE early as well, and Driver has been injured on and off the whole season, yet Rodgers doesn't do the stupid crap Manning does.

Rodgers:

2009 350 541 64.7 4434 30 7 8.2 103.2
2010 261 399 65.4 3243 23 9 8.3 100.3

Mr. Regular Season:

2009 393 571 68.8 4500 33 16 7.8 99.9
2010 353 534 66.1 3709 24 15 6.6 89.4

How can you argue against those numbers, especially considering Mr. Regular Season had an elite OL last year and the joke of an OL Rodgers had for the first half of the year?

This isn't even including the fact that Rodgers is the 2nd best scrambling QB in the NFL after Michael Vick and between Mr. Regular Season, Brett Favre, and my Grandma, I think my Grandma would win a foot race. Manning has 0 rushing TDs the past 2 years whereas Aaron's got 9.

I guess most importantly, Rodgers will end his career with more SB wins. That's what I want anyways.

You're conveniently omitting the fact that Manning had to break in a couple of new guys at receiver last season and he still led his team to a division title--something that Rodgers did not do. And it really doesn't work to call Manning Mr. Regular Season in a post where you are complaining about him winning the MVP award, considering that the MVP is awarded entirely on the basis of regular season performance. Rodgers is 0-1 in the playoffs anyway.

What I said last year is that Manning deserved the MVP, but Rodgers will get his due, and that's what appears to be happening this year. Recognition lags slightly behind success.

Look at what Mike Vick has gone through (put himself through) and look what he has become. He was a 6-7/10 quarterback, and he is now a 9/10 quarterback, maybe even 10/10. There really isn't a whole lot more the guy could do.

Is there any way that, if it were just the two of them contending for the spot, Rodgers gets the MVP over Vick?

Of course it could happen, especially since a lot of people still have mixed feelings about Michael Vick. The Michael Vick story is very interesting, but not a classic feel-good story by any means.

Rodgers is still an underdog (no pun intended) to win the MVP award because, let's face it, his level of play during the first half of the season was not much above average. But since then he's been lights-out. If it's a dead heat between Rodgers and Vick for the MVP, I'm guessing that the player from the team that wins its division and/or has the better record will get the nod.

LOL at the non-pun!

When are the awards given out for MVP? I agree that the Vick story is not a feel good story and that some people would never vote for him just because of it, but I also believe that there are people that take the story in an opposite direction. They look at it as a resurgence, as a come from behind win. There are people that think that since he served his time (which was harsh when compared to Ray Lewis killing a guy and Ben Roethlisberger raping half of Pennsylvania) and that he is a different man with new beginnings. I feel like Vick's history could hurt him, but that it certainly could also help him.

Also, I have heard people talking about Rodgers and saying that perhaps this is what we will get for the future, a chronic slow-starter? His first game in 2008 as a starter, he stepped up and played huge against the Vikings, then followed it with a 324yd week 2 against the Lions. From there, it started to dwindle a bit. It remains to be seen if he is a chronic slow-starter, but as the old adage goes, "Two dots don't make a trend, they make a line."

Brees should have won it last year. He got robbed. He got his revenge in the SB though.

Breaking in new receivers? Mr. Regular Season has had possibly the best possession WR of all-time for most of his career. Now he's got Reggie Wayne.

It would be like if Favre had Sterling Sharpe for 10 years.

Mike Vick is currently leading in votes for the Pro-Bowl. We'd be kidding ourselves if we didn't think that he is also near the top for MVP votes. Vick and Brady are ahead of Rodgers for the MVP and rightly so. I was just saying Aaron's been better than Mr. Regular Season for 2009 and 2010. I said in 2008 that would be so.

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin

Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable

beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
